The bios are worth unlocking, as they provide a lot of backstory for the characters. Jerome (The Skater Kid) was the leader of a street gang, but he and his friends made the mistake of trying to steal Natla's car. They were all murdered by her bodyguard Kold (the bald guy). Natla then forced The Kid to work for her.

The cut-scene where Lara killed Larson is one of my favorite of the whole franchise. Since she has always killed only animals untill this moment, it was the very first time she had ever killed somebody. And you really can feel her emotions about it

yeah, I liked it too! In the OG it felt more cold blooded.. they gave her a bit more depth in this one.

@@LIZZgame That's for sure ;) And furthermore, the most heart-breaking thing about it is that Larson wasn't really Lara's ennemy in the game, more of a rival. He even missed his shot on purpose before Lara jumped into the river

4:32 On the PS2 it looks essentially the same just with a lower resolution 😁 don't forget PS2 games were meant to be played on CRT TVs ideally. There are even full PSP ports of this and legend!

Yes, there were 9 games in the franchise before the Survivor trilogy was made: original TR1-TR5, AOD, and Legend trilogy. Makes 12 games total.

Congratulations Lizz. 🎉😊 I am a fan of adventure games and I have played almost all TR games an prince of persia. It is interesting to see different gamers play the same game and see their strengths and weaknesses. You overthink to much but on the flipside you never give up. Today you decide to laugh when things got difficult and that is the best way to enjoy the games compleatly. Remember without sleep, food and water you can't focus aaaand a lot of stretching. 😊 I am looking forward to experience the next two TR games in the serie. I wish you lot of fun playing g them. Stay focused when the games become challenging. Stop looking at the comments. 😊 I will cheer for you in the next round.

I overthink, but I believe I also think different than a lot of people, so the solutions I come up with are often unthought of haha. And yes, lack of sleep definitely impacts my ability to focus and solve puzzles. And as a streamer and KZbinr, not looking at comments is not really an option lol.

58:59 I didn't say to hold B 😔😆 You approach the ledge and press B once, you even did it back in Egypt when you were trying to do the swan dive 1:20:27 You can do something similar if you spam the jump button 😁 you can also move the left joystick down mid-acrobatics for her to do something different, and you can also infinitely chain them if you keep alternating between the jump and roll moves, not doing any of them more than twice since it triggers that final somersault thingy 😆 Hope you try it in legend too because they changed some of the animations in anniversary

@@LIZZgame In one of my edits I put "(assuming it was me 😆)" but editing on mobile is cursed and it sort of saves an older version, I'd also once added "it works in legend and underworld too so you can try it there" at some point, but I figured it could've been my comment because I usually read all of them and you'd replied to that one saying you'd give it a shot 😆 not that it matters anyway, it was a silly comment but the main purpose was to clear up how it works since it's far less risky, worst case scenario you just crouch in place and get to take another step and try again rather than falling to your death 😆

The sequence you spent the most time repeating *almost* made me rage quit! It was just so close to the end, I wanted to power through. And, thankfully, I finally got it. But, man… (I think I actually repeated the section at least 20 times.)

Already finished, that was fast! But a lot of fun, thanks for playing! :D Hope you enjoyed it too, despite the frustrating bits. I really love the trek through Mordor in the end, and the way it frames Lara's first killing of a human enemy. And it fits nicely between the stories of "Legend" and "Underworld" - can't wait to see you discovering the connections whenever you play them. By the way, do you know the fan project by Nico Bass? A guy that remade the first "Tomb Raider 2" level in the "Anniversary" engine. It looks awesome and can be played for free, as far as I know. If you ever need a small dose of Lara inbetween. ^^

The original games were made by Core Design. Eidos, the publisher of the franchise, forced Core to make a new Tomb Raider game every year for 5 years; Tomb Raider 1-5 came out between 1996 and 2000 on PS1. They did get burned out and tried to kill Lara off in Tomb Raider 4, but they decided to bring Lara back and make a 6th game: Angel of Darkness. Unfortunately, due to being on new and unfamiliar hardware (PS2) and due to Eidos demanding they split their team to make Tomb Raider 5, Angel of Darkness turned out to be a bit of a mess and didn't sell very well. Eidos rewarded Core by taking the franchise away from them and kicking them to the curb. Crystal Dynamics has made every Tomb Raider game from Legend on. To add insult to injury, Core Design wanted to remake Tomb Raider 1 for the game's 10th anniversary and approached Eidos. Eidos was interested so Core got to work and started making their remake. But then Eidos had Crystal Dynamics make a remake of Tomb Raider 1 instead (this game) and Core went out of business. A few years ago some people from Core leaked their unfinished Tomb Raider 1 remake to a prominent Tomb Raider youtuber and the fan community got it into a "playable" state. It's far from a finished game but it's far more faithful to the original game than this one.

I love Tomb Raider (2013), but it’s a very different kind of game. More focus on story/relationships, action/adventure, and combat. There’s very little platforming (by comparison) and what puzzles and tombs there are are very simplistic. “Rise of the Tomb Raider” improves on the tombs/puzzles, but features even more combat. “Shadow of the Tomb Raider” is probably the most balanced of the three, but, for me, it veered too close to being an RPG, with Lara in a single hub area (complete with myriad side quests) for the majority of the game. None of them include the kind of globetrotting seen in the earlier games. And the actual gameplay is much more modern (read: easier) than earlier games. All of this, of course, is just my opinion. But I’ve personally enjoyed *all* of the Tomb Raider games I’ve played, which includes the most recent two trilogies. After TR 2013, though, “Anniversary” and “Underworld” are my favorites. Even though, as a casual, older gamer, I found them pretty challenging in parts. I guess I just like Lara in all of her versions.

Had no idea about this, but luckily you can manually disable them in the task manager with "set affinity" I think, and I've seen people make a simple .bat file for games like GTA San Andreas that you just double click and it launches the game with those changes made 😁

If you liked Anniversary, you'll love Legend. As for Underworld, it concludes the story but I don't think anyone actually enjoys it unironically lol

Underworld is great. It just has a clunky camera, but the story, graphics and gameplay are fantastic. Also, it features the best Lara character model ever so far xD.

@@LIZZgame I heard that too and I find it super weird. I was hyped for Underworld for a long time because it didn't run on my PC when it came out. But when I played through the entire series a few years ago, Underworld was the only one I didn't enjoy at all - until I accepted it as "so bad in every possible way that it's actually funny"
