I understand both sides if the situation but i cant figure out why there are games in a relationship. I am a straight shooter and sometimes I am wrong. Love this movie! Just discovered it a few weeks ago and was dismayed to read that the critics disliked it. Critics are so out of touch with audiences. This movie made me laugh and cry. Isn't that what movies are supposed to do? Matthew Goode makes my heart skip a beat!

Well, I can say without reservation that this is the sweetest movie I've ever seen. Mr. Goode's voice, when he said "She paid me," was so soft and dignified in comparison to the rather loud and brash voice of her fiance. I'm sure it was deliberate on the part of the director, and it worked for me. My God, how could she walk away from him. I loved the chemistry between them in the castle when he finished its story, the garden and cooking, his comments about a father. Sweet, sweet portrayal.
