I'm a big fan of everyone, especially Derrick who I think is a comedic genius. So let me begin with that. You guys at mega64 have achieved monumental success while staying totally independent and constantly evolving your comedy. However, I feel like the pressure to "succeed" as other's define it can get to you guys occasionally. In every metric you guys are totally successful, no other channel like you has lasted and flourished so well. I imagine it can be hard to see that while in the middle of it though, and I think your early stellar success in the gaming industry set an unreasonably high standard for you guys. It honestly does seem wild that such amazing talented young men weren't given a show on a major network, but I somehow feel you guys are beyond that. Your style and approach to comedy is so unique, I don't think it would have ultimately been a positive experience and may have killed mega64. That and the fact that money for independent comedy and entertainment has largely dried up, I wouldn't blame yourselves. What you're doing is honestly way more impressive than a couple of seasons of corporate TV This brings me to my last point. When Derrick took his hiatus I couldn't wait for him to return. But now that he has I'm not so sure. Derrick has been working so hard his whole life, and that pressure is starting to crack him. The boys are on eggshells around him and his behavior is getting concerning. To speak about myself briefly, I've been seeing a therapist for over 10 years and they've really helped me and my whole family. I think everyone could use someone like that they can talk to, who knows how to listen yet doesn't have skin in the game. Considering the challenges of such an unconventional lifestyle, working at mega64 must be as stressful as it is rewarding. I hope all the mega64 boys are keeping up with their mental health. Anyway, sorry to rant in the comments here. This podcast episode just stuck with me and I had to express my thoughts

God I hate when they talk about things that they just don't know about. Yes the last few seasons of GoT fucking suck. But at the same time, a lot of the BEST dialogue scenes in the early seasons were d&d originals (for example, the scene between the king and cersai where they talk about the romance between them being dead) THAT WEREN'T IN THE BOOKS. So yeah they suck at original writing, but I they ARE amazing at adapting. Those first 4-5 seasons is some of the best tv of all time
@yungoldman28232 ай бұрын
I mean ok. That doesnt change that they seemingly stopped understanding how to adapt something, arguably as soon as season five their structural changes to the story began to be an issue and only got worse as the seasons went on. Just maybe chill out and take some deep breaths. These things are not mutually exclusive realities, they coexist. They both did a good job, and then did a bad job.

Depends what games you play. Some games have gotten really good at figuring out how to combat stick drift. So if you’re playing the right games, you’ll never notice. I can play Astro bot no worry with stick drift but the moment I switch over to something like hitman, I can’t walk in a straight line.
