Dude! I can't even imagine waiting for the next episode to have the same plot all over again for 8 weeks- 2 MONTHS! But then when you were thinking "Wtf is happening in today's episode?" You see the final episode of Endless Eight and get satisfied when Kyon finally broke the cycle! What i understand is this. It wasn't about the homework. Haruhi wanted someone of the group to do the ordering around for the brigade for a little, she encouraged them to suggest what to do in the vacation, and she offered the leader position for a day as a reward. that girl wanted a vacation from ordering people around and be ordered around her self. and definitely she wanted her john smith to be the one, and his stupid idea of making the group doing homework just cut it.

I remember how this arc lasted for two months until Kyon finally broke the endless loop. It felt so satisfying. Might be annoying to some, but Endless 8 taught us how Nagato spent most of the time experiencing these loops.

It’s a great experience, I didn’t have the opportunity to watch it while airing but it still took me a couple days. When I read the novel on the other hand, the whole endless 8 was solved in like 40 pages it felt incredibly underwhelming and the arc had no impact

I dunno about anyone else, but I honestly enjoyed every epsiode of the Endless Eight. Think about it, something like this has never been done on television before, it's unique. And even though the plot is exactly the same for every episode, there are minor differences in each episode that keep it interesting, not to mention every episode is 100% re-animated. The Endless Eight is genius, annoying yes, but every Haruhi fan should admit that this was an important part to the series.

I actually think it was worth watching every episode. I truly felt that would go on forever and when it finally ended, I felt incredibly relieved and satisfied. You wouldn't get the same feeling if you just watched it once. Any other anime could not do this with the same results. Its Haruhi, and its popular enough to be eccentric (1st season jumbled episodes, endless 8) and still have people watch it.

I figured out the answer at the 3rd episode. Kyon kun said "doesnt matter if i do my homework if were gonna start again anyway." Yeah DUH dummy dont you think thats the reason haruhi restart the summer break? She said she can finish her homework in three days and she said "you need to finish your homework early so you can enjoy your summer break." She didnt say she finished hers. And theres only one day left. Too easy.
