1st- Jacek great job man. People are so sensitive to everything nowadays. The guy is happy with it, he already said that he is old and that he feels it is good enough for him. Everybody else that wants one put $5k - $15k of their pocket and go to scream somewhere. All risk aside I was thinking of doing something like it and went to look for some info and what I got was a very expensive well designed machines (Slipstream, etc.), but for a regular guy and his wife to do some hydro exercises with some medium current for $500 bucks is pretty awesome and I was not even was considering a box. I was setting a simpler idea on a strong board with no box, and simple on/off switch to start secure of course but when I put it together still works and it is safe. Makes me want to improve mine, but without his video my idea will remain raw. Now this guy's idea is a beautiful improvement and a solution for whom wants it, and the closest to the real super expensive thing. Thanks Jacek Suchon, great idea to develop. For the crying babies, there is no string attached snowflakes, go back to the umbilical cord.

This is a great project but I knew as soon as I saw size of the pump it's not big enough. I installed a huge pump with only 1 turn between it and the pool and even that you would struggle to swim at a decent speed. My advice for anyone reading this is get a bigger pump, have few to no corners in the pipe as it reduces flow and use 40mm pipe. If you do need to have turns then use 2 45 degrees instead of one 90, it reduces the pressure. Happy building

I thought the same. Our pool return pipe is much larger also the pump it can push you away but it's not strong enough to swim against continuously. I suppose that is why the man at the end of the video was only wading and not swimming. If I had a pool like his I would do laps which are more beneficial. Unfortunately I don't have my pool anymore (I miss it everyday). Anyway your advice is helpful and important. Hopefully anyone who is seriously considering making this as a DIY will read your comment and heed your advice. 😊

When our pool was installed, i asked for a second discharge pipe with valve and up sized the pump from 1 hp to 3hp variable speed. I built a 4 head manifold with eductors that give an increase flow 4-5 times as much. Works great. This guys idea is a good solution for the after the fact installs.

Great concept idea!! 💯 for execution and neatness build...however as an FTI for Endless Pools I have seen that that the best propulsion is execute by means of propeller or turbine. Kinda like the propulsion of a jetski. Endless pools products use an underwarer hydraulic motor powered by an outside hydraulic pump motor and the water propulsion is created by means of a spining propeller inside the Fastlane housing underwarer. They have a great product and it works evenly on water surface area. These equipments cost from $7000 to $10,000 depending on installation setup. It would be great to used your concept here and use a small turbine or two with adjustable speed controls. The Fastlane is equipped with a programmed board that controls speed by remote. Its possible like I said to build a smaller version with all the new small turbine motors used today on the market for underwater aquatics. China makes ton of them😊👍

He poured in water to prime it. I find it hard to believe that a small 120v motor produces enough force to swim against. My pool pump is considerable larger and wouldn’t produce enough flow. He is basically treading water, I don’t believe he could actually swim against it, his pump isn’t big enough. The concept is sound. They already make swim pools,look at the size of motor they use. It makes this pump look like a toy and they are all 240v. A simple teather would be super cheap and do the same thing except actually work.

Thank you Jacek for sharing! So glad I found this video. My husband made me a 7x12’ diy endless pool in our covered patio using a tether. Works great so far but I hope to consider having the option of swimming against a current using something like the one you built. I like glide swimming freestyle. Does your machine accommodates freestyle swimming stroke? My husband says that he can try to make one for me like the one on your video. Thanks again! -Naomi

Thanks again Jacek! If i can glide swim freestyle using your machine, this can be a game changer for me. We are in a very early stage of building a 45’ indoor lap pool. Huge expense and effort will be involved of course. Maintenance and heating bill the rest of the time is another big factor. If your machine would allow me to glide swim, I’ll definitely build a shorter indoor pool instead. I hope to find out if swimming against a current in a smaller pool can work for me before committing to a regular lap pool.

It won't fit in a poly rolling case but the T's and L bows kill lower water pressure like your showing. The math can fill a page on how much you lose. but basically, you lose half volume of flow on every L-bow. You would have to heat the PVC fill with hot sand and slowly bend. as wide as you can afford. You will still lose some on the bends but nothing like half on each. You add all the L's and T's and its a lot. If you look at home jacuzzi tubs you will see the same thing to minimize loss of flow.

 @jaceksuchon4717 I cringed looking at this. It reminded me of a plugged in hair dryer sitting on an unstable shelf above a bathroom shower. The device should not be so close to the pool. If it tips and goes in the water while you are in, then expect something shocking to happen to you. Longer pipes for safety. Keep it 20-30 feet away and use some GFCI and Arc Fault interruption in your circuits at the source of the power and not inside your pump box.
@jaceksuchon4717
@jaceksuchon4717 Жыл бұрын
You are absolutely right the circuit must be GFI protected with lnterrupter at the panel. Length of the cord supplying electricity to the box won't allowed energized box to fall in in the water. If the box moves more then 5 inches towards the pool it will unplug it self from wall receptacle, by the time the box will hit the water it won't be connected to anything You are saying my device is too close to the water. Do you enjoy hot tubes? Every time you enter one you will be only inches from 240V pumps ,heaters chlorinators ect. Great comment Thank you for watching and paying attention

@@jaceksuchon4717 I am more concerned with people copying this idea. I didn't see electrical safety mentioned in your video. Anyone wanting to copy your idea should take note and not everyone will use a short extension cord.. Longer pipes would go a long way to keep the pump from going in the water.
@robertt8273
@robertt8273 Жыл бұрын
One other safety precaution, you need two suction pipes. Just in case you get too close to one pipe ir could create enough suction to do great body damage. Two pipes prevent this. This is why most all pools built since 1980s have two drains. Just as dangerous as not plugging into a ground fault plug.

I tried that in an aquarium and the flow just kind of goes everywhere and still has some current circulating the opposite direction. So I think just having a shorter intake near the pump might be better than sucking the water through a longer pipe.
