I have a 1988 Citroën CX that has air suspension and It drives like nothing else. That is: the suspension is air, but the height adjustment is oil pressure. As early as 1955 Citroën introduced this system on the DS. Sadly thay have abandoned this system lately as the market has changed: the roads are better and the young Europeans want a more stiff "sporty" suspension. It's good to see that you guys picked up the idea.

Welp looks like I'm going to upgrade my tank. Good job guys!

From 3:07 - 3:34 the latches on the combustion chamber were unlocked, but after the tank exploded @ 4:19 they were locked. What happened between takes? Also not knocking the product, But who in the right mind needs a tank to hold more than 200psi for a daily driver?
@Rx2NR6 жыл бұрын
Sleeve bags struggle to lift the front engine on heavier vehicles, oftentimes needing at least 175-200 psi of pressure.

Unreal those threads are holding that much pressure. Are you form tapping them? Awesome videos and great to see you guys are using KME tombstones!
@SLOTruckGuy8 жыл бұрын
All of the threads are thread milled. We have lots of thread engagement and as you saw in the video, we break our bolts long before we pull the threads in the aluminum! The KME tombstones are killer!

If you want a long tank life with out spending a fortune is to simply look at what the major OEMs have been doing for years and that's just good quality well made air tanks seam welded combined with good moisture management ie and air water separator and a desiccant dryer. As for the comments in this video about leaks from welds don't blame the process just change your supplier.

thanks for posting this guys. Just wondering, just how cold/how long can your system handle cold temps? Im up in Winnipeg MB, where winter can reach -43 in the windchill for a few weeks at a time in janurary. IS that still demanding too much? I imagine materials begin to fail at -30? our roads can be pretty rough lol. If your ever looking to test products out -.o
@SLOTruckGuy8 жыл бұрын
-43 sounds really miserable Paul =) Our seals are good for -40 F/C, but we have only tested the assembly to -20 C so far. We do plan to go further with our environmental testing for those of you trying to endure the harshest temperatures on our planet =).

What's the o'ring material, if I may ask? Something exotic like Kalrez?
@SLOTruckGuy8 жыл бұрын
Viton (I guess it is somewhat exotic) has become our polymer of choice for the majority of our seals. It has an excellent operating temperature band, great abrasion resistance, great ozone resistance, along with a few other properties that we really like.

Guess you would need an air Dryer between compressor and tank or run co2 ? From my experience water in valves doesn't go real well

Nothing innovating here. Paintball guns and their co2 tanks constructed of aluminium has held well over 3000 PSI since the early 90's when kids starting playing them. Stop Bullshitting your consumers bc even without it you guys have a solid product. Another product is smittybilt power tank portable air system. I have a constant of 3k PSI to work any air tools on demand including lifting a 4500 pound vehicle.
@Nguyen3607 жыл бұрын
All those tanks you speak of are one solid construction/ welds. This is showing the end caps can stand the pressure, as you can remove the end caps to upgrade between ENDO V, T, and CVT.
@fdseoulsandiego65147 жыл бұрын
You're missing the point, tank technology has been around for years, Paintball industry and scuba industry has been doing this tank tech for decades. Paintball tanks made of carbon fiber holds well over 8500PSI and scuba tanks as well.
@Nguyen3607 жыл бұрын
I get what you're saying, high PSI tanks (for other applications) have been around for a while. Accuair is bringing to the table, specific to the air suspension industry is this modular tank. That's innovation to the air suspension industry, all in one kits, with upgrade-ability between models while meeting the DOT specs with removable end caps. You're not wrong, there are higher PSI tanks (and there are no portable air compressors capable of higher than 300PSI anyway), but it is irrelevant to the air suspension industry.
@SterlingRobertson7 жыл бұрын
FDSeoul San Diego Your really forgetting about thw huge factor of SIZE. Yes paintball does have 3000psi tanks and they are very small. Try carrying around a 5gal 3000psi tank and see what kind of lengths you would have to go through to withstand those forces. Granted air suspension only needs about 200psi to operate but these tanks are very impressive in design and function. I look forward to getting one in the near future. I really love the fact that the end caps (a.k.a. the weak points) are so large. Reason being is that when they burst the energy is quickly released causing less velocity vs a tank with a small opening to burst turning your tank into a missle. Keep up the great work guys!
