Can someone explain me why in Aikikai aikido senseis show their jikoryu instead of the kihon ?

+Vanni Giulio because if you cut away weapons nothing could validate your kihon. So it is only a matter of awase and nothing about aikido. Just dance.

Aikido, is subject to personal style and preference. The guy is 300 years, old, do you think he is going to be tackling anyone? His style, has been adapted to his age. Endo was very hard core before until he broke his shoulder. Dont you just find, the technique surprisingly efficient?

This is NOT a good demonstration of Aikido. There is no continuous motion or flowing. The nage is NOT using the uke's energy and force against him. There is no redirection. There is a lot of stopping and starting. This is poor Aikido. I have 20 years of experience in the martial arts with 4 of it in Aikido, in which I attained the rank of nikkyu.

uke drops into a hole..one drop.. recovers..rinse and repeat..that's all..the point is to discover the natural lines.. no need to redirect force of any attacker.. since we are one.. in the making of shapes together.. in the moment. there is nothing more beautiful to a samurai than the cherry blossoms blooming.. nothing sadder that we must leave this beauty behind..

Keni Lynch Hi Keni, My point is that there are no natural lines and no fluidity. The nage is not using the uke's energy against him. A good aikidoka knows to unbalance the uke, stretch him out, and or drop and cause the nage to drop with him, in a continuous motion, as Okamoto Sensei says.

Keni Lynch Uke are not supposed to tumble and fall just for the sake of it. Nage is suppose to cause that to occur. Also, nage should not be using strength to perform his techniques, which I see occurring in this video, especially when the two uke are grabbing each arm of the nage.

Errol Torres Endo's kuzushi is amazing.."Nage causing a fall" is a very generic way of talking about kuzushi.. there are many ways.. and that is why I think aikido is great. Like some of the classical arts, it can get subtler and subtler as we grow older.. I can guarantee you that the ukes are not just falling for the master because they like it.. It is because they have to.. Later, and on reflection, to be thrown without force is something amazing.. It took me twenty years to understand how it works.. My book is coming out soon.. please check it out.. although I also heard Endo also has his own book.. But, it is really a result of trying to find an easier way of movement.. It is not at all flimsy or weak.. Just the opposite actually.. As one master said to me "we aren't doing chambara, you know.."
