Happy New Year Candy absolutely love the doll library ! I’m a huge Dickens fan Bleak House is a masterpiece but I found it hard going for the first quarter but it was so worth it if you can hang in there. David Copperfield is brilliant and I found it really funny in places. I’ll try and read it again along with you xx

Happy New Year Candy. My degree is in English Literature. I loved every minute of it.I studied Austen, the Brontes, 18th century literature amongst others. We didnt study Dicjens but I did Great Expectations for my A level which I loved.I think its a great idea to do your diy degree. I love the idea of reading more Dickens with you. ❤😊

Just so you know, Taming of the Shrew is anything but feminist (Germaine Greer would hate it!). Now I've got Tove Jansson and VE Schwab on my wish list! Most of Dickens is chunky as he was paid by the word for serializing! Can I count watching the movie Into the Woods as a fairy tale event? Did you know that recently V.E. Schwab released a fourth book in the darker shade of magic series. It’s called “The Fragile Threads of Power” I hope you get it too and that it’s not too expensive. I’ve only read the first book so far and it definitely is a dream come true for a fantasy novel. I’m loving your book content so much, it’s so fun to watch. Snap! I also bought the Dickens tarot for myself for Christmas and have read a lot of the books and recognized a lot of the characters in the cards and their significance to the meanings. I love your Shakespeare tarot decks and have not seen them before but I do have The Shakespearean Tarot by Dolores Ashcroft Nowicki from 1993 which I'm sure you would love also. Oh my gosh Candy, I just bought the Dickens Tarot too! Mine arrived a couple weeks ago 😂 I was listening to you talk about your reading plans thinking, “I’ve GOT to find a way to get her the Dickens Tarot, “ and then imagine my surprise when you pulled it out. Yay! I’m so thrilled you have it! Is this a sign I should read David Copperfield this month? I have a copy! I don’t know as I have time for all the challenges because my daughter and I are still reading gothic works, but I bet Fang February will fit into my plans because I want to reread Dracula and maybe Interview with the Vampire as it’s been 20 years since I read it. I LOVE your doll bookshelves! That tiny room is like one of those dreams where you discover a secret room in your house, and it’s filled with treasures. I have many dreams like this (not all of them pleasant lol) Anyway, what an inspiring video! Love, love, love! ❤❤❤

Aww that’s so touching that you were thinking that about the tarot…. I love that you have it too. They are such great decks aren’t they. It would be fabulous if you could read along but honestly buddy reading with your daughter trumps everything!!! I dropped all my reading plans too for exactly that in December when my daughter asked me to read a series with her and that is still priority for January. Nothing will ever trump it. I plan to spend a few months reading David copperfield though so if that helps there’s that but otherwise you enjoy those delicious gothic reads with that super star you are raising ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
