I've covered 400 km wearing these shoes, training and completing a 10K (41m21s) and a half marathon (1h36m - taking it easy). The Pro 2 are still holding their own in a pretty good way. So far, the best running shoes I've ever purchased... the Pro 3 are on their way... will see. 😉

The Future is now, and it's awesome! When I started competitive running, all the way back in 1987, racing flats were highly specialized, rare, expensive and didn't last long, maybe a few races or one season of racing over a summer before they were hosed. Now we have racing shoes that last over 100 miles, or even WELL over that (again, who's ever heard of such things?), excellent cushioning (Like, WOW!), you can get them at almost any running specialty store or online, and you don't need to be a sub-30 minute 10K stallion to get the benefits of running in these shoes. I LOVES me the Endo Pro!!!

Hi Kofuzi, I have about 375km in a pair of Endorphin Pro 1 and have found they get a little softer as they age. I now run my Sunday long runs in them, and they perform well. I recently got a pair of Pro 2 from the Saucony outlet at a good price. I suspect they are clearing their stock for the Pro 3. I ran a 3km warm up, a 5km Time Trial and then an easy 2km cool down in them. Interestingly, I ran my fastest 5km in over 3 years. I agree that they perform best when pushed, whereas the ZoomX works better at running at a rhythm, like for a HM, a marathon or even a road ultramarathon, like the Comrades Marathon in SA. The Pro 3, due out soon, is supposed to have a taller stack height, so it may be better suited to the longer races.

I really like my endorphin pro 1’s. I’ve got about 60 miles in them and they are still very responsive. I agree with the marathon. I ran a marathon in mine and it was good but made a little too firm. I really liked them in my half marathon race.

Great review. These saucony shoes seem to work for some people and used to work for me. However for me I moved on from saucony since their shoes feel great at first but then die off after 200 and 300 miles. Shoe tubers dont take their shoes this far because they dont have to stretch their $$$ like some of us. Learned patience with most adidas shoes as they kind of suck initially but then marinate and get better for me and most last (except the adios 6)well over 400 miles. Like you said, $200 is still too much. Wait for discounts. 🤠

I don't understand this. I run 600 miles with these shoes. The upper can become fragile, but you can easily patch this.

As you say they work for some people, I wonder if it's a manfuacturing defect thing. My Endorphin speed 2s lasted about 500miles before the midsole started to become less responsive but the sole and upper were still in great shape. I know others that have swapped after 2-300miles like yourself.

Mine are at about 400 miles and even though I've retired that pair, I feel confident that I could still run in those without putting myself at increased odds for injury. The Pebax foam just doesn't seem to break down, even at elevated mileage. Amazing.

@@htmonaro1969 - I have no doubt about those claims. The Speed is so good that I've bought up extras in the V1/2 versions and planning on meting them out over the next year or so, while platooning this with the rather excellent Puma Deviate Nitro for my daily runs. It's hard to beat either of these shoes for both durability as well as ride and feel...you're missing out if you haven't yet tried the Puma series, I'm a believer at this point.

I think the key difference between the Speed and the Pro is how the plate affects the shoe's performance as it gets old. The nylon plate loses it's stiffness and becomes softer but less stable, than the carbon plate in the Pro. I retired my first pair of Speed because I started getting shin pain as the integrity of the plate failed. I replaced them in my rotation with a pair of Speed 2 and the pain went away. My Pro 1 are now my long run shoes and I replaced them as my 5/10km race and speed work shoes with a pair of Speed 2.

I love this shoe. It's actually going to be the one I wear at my marathon in a couple weeks. I think I agree on the firmness but I tend to run heavy and am about 165-170 lbs so I think it compresses for me at my non-non-sub-elite paces (aiming for a sub 3:30 so not a speedster). I think combined with the Endorphin Speed for training and workouts through the week it works great!

@@jozefberes250 Aesthetically they’re a really cool shoe esp in orange, but unfortunately I didn’t like them personally. I ran a couple 10 milers & a 15 miler & they destroyed my feet- the carbon plate/foam is super stiff & you need to hit just the right spot for the shoe to propel you - still ran faster times than my brooks adrenaline regardless, but it wasn’t enjoyable. I ended up going with the alphaflys for the marathon, I had to change the insole because I have a wide foot & ran about 40 miles in them before the race and they were good to go. The propulsion from the shoes is insane & being a heavier runner they most certainly saved my legs with all the foam in the back & the AirPods in the front, I bounced back in two days after the marathon and my legs were fresh.

Ko I had a similar experience with the pros. Purchased on sale on reputation and found a bit firm and uncomfortable for long runs. But I did set a half PR so served me well. In the end I swapped for the Hoka Carbons as I wanted more a marathon racer.

I've used my Pro 1s for two half marathons and set significant PRs (-5min and another -2.5min) and they felt great. Obviously my improved performance wasn't the shoes alone, but I love them as a race shoe. Not sure if I'll use them or something else when I go for a BQ and CIM in Dec- lots of time to try others, but I think they're an option.

I've reached the same mileage with mine (Pro 2) and I love them. It looks like you supinate a bit as these shoes are, in my humble opinion, a tad forgiving. If you try the Pro Plus I can guarantee you'll feel like you are on sort of "railway". Anyway, the next test I'm going to do at the running track is going to be: a brand new pair of Ride 15 vs the Pro 2 used for 100 miles. By the way, I've previously used all the Ride versions from 8 to 13 (including the ISO and ISO 2) and I've never had any issue.

Wondering if the lack of recoil/propulsion you're talking about at the slower paces is related to weight. Not sure where you tip the scales, but I wonder if for larger, heavier bodies that carbon plate would perform better at slower speeds. (Comment below from 165/170 lb runner seems to like it). I haven't tried the Pros, but am on my second pair of Speeds and feel like they're doing the job as advertised. Ran Boston this year in the Speeds, and considered the Pros, but the firmer feel you and others have mentioned kept me from trying it. But at 160 lbs. I might get more return out of them than you mention. Still on the fence, but, as always, really enjoy your videos. Thank you.

I'm 200 lbs and this is my preferred racing shoe. It performed well on a 5k and so far is my best Marathon shoe as well compared to the VaporFly (and Zoom fly 3/4). I can't wear the speeds but the Pro's rigidness that people speak of work well for me and my weight. Still have mechanical issues after 22 miles but that's a #bigbonedflatfootedrunner thing. Love this shoe, have 2 1's for shorter races and Pro2 for Marathon (better lockdown).

I just hit 100 miles in my pro 2s and 200 miles in my speed 2s. I love the pro2 but am a bit more connected to the speeds due to being able to grab them for virtually any run I'm about to go on, easy, tempo, long or even full marathon length. The pro2 have a special place and I think they accel most in that 10k to half marathon distance for me. The speeds give me about 8/10 of what the pros can deliver but in a more comfortable package. I'm not going to lie. The pros are great but damn I feel beat up the next day. I recently bought the Nike zoom x streakfly for 5k races as I was wanting something a bit more nimble than a carbon plated shoe for the short races and I'm very glad I did. They are great. The carbon plated shoes I found gave me great energy return in the short races but I found it very awkward to reach full sprint for a kick in the end, make fast turns through corners as well as maintain a proper foot strike when going up steeper roads. They all have their place for different races but the pro2 have been retired from the short races.

Great review on this Saucony Pro 2.🌟.I still have the original Saucony Pro 1 with only about 80 miles as I more less save the racing shoes for race day other then maybe a few miles in them a few days before a race just to kind of get back in touch with the feel and to decide what shoe I want to wear for a race..I really liked it for a 10k and a 10 mile race Sometimes I like the Endorphine Speed better then the Pro for tempo runs because it feels more comfortable and it is a nice & versitle for a variety of runs .Back in the day in 2011 & 2012 I use to love the Adidas Adios..I had a yellow pair with a white heel cup and an orange pair with a light green heel cup. Those use to be my choice for the 1/2 marathon up to a marathon and I still kept a brand new pair in the box But now the technology has jumped forward by leaps and bounds with better responsive mid soles and it wouldn't be my be choice today unless I wore them for a 10k just to get people asking "What shoe is that?"A decade ago many of the Kenyan Elites wore these Adios in races. And I always wonder how much faster even old school runners could of been like Bill Rogers in the 70's or Alberto Salazar in the early 80's if they had better running shoes back then. The racing shoes back then had very low stack heights and were much firmer.I don't know how their legs could handle a full marathon in those? Anyways I might wear the Saucony Pro for a 10 mile race in the fall.🍁🏃 Kalif

I have had this shoe for 300 miles, as well as the speed for 250 miles, and I’d say I agree with you in terms of midsole give. I would say this shoe really doesn’t start to make sense for me until I’m running faster than half marathon effort, which is under 6:00 pace, due to the firm and stiff nature of the shoe. I would say for most people, you are going to be able to compress and use more of the endorphin speed than the pro.

I picked up a pair of these at my local running running store on 6/12/23 for $ 80.00. I took them out for a hilly 8 mile run and liked them. They're stiffer (duh-the plate) than the Hoka Mach 4's and Rincon's that I normally use. I could see using them for a longer run or a workout at marathon pace, but not a marathon.
