Greetings from Buenos Aires! That was a lovely talk. It was positive, uplifting and you presented a nice set of things to reflect on. I've meant to read that translation, thanks. My first exposure to Momen was in the 80's. I read "Introduction to Shi'i Islam"·. Halfway through I thought to myself, this author is so fair in his history, he sounds like a Bahá'í. I have had great respect for him since then. I hope we have the pleasure of seeing you once again in Argentina. It's a cherished memory. -Erik

Dear Mr. Dunbar (I will always refer to you as Mr. Dunbar, since my days in Haifa) -- I treasure and adore your personhood, your insights, and your "down home" way of being in the world. In case you are wondering, my father and mother are still on this earthly plane, but dad isn't too communicative or capable these days. I know he and you shared a deep bond of friendship, which I expect will carry through all the worlds of God. Allah'u'Abha my friend.

Jesus was the only who healed, tortured and ask Heaven for man to be forgiven. He didn't go to war in physical world, He said , “My kingdom is not of this world. that means King of Kings no other God did that nor faith nor belief. He's death on the Cross is the ticket to heaven John 3:16 16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

1:27 "love me because I love you" your quotation is wrong. You ask to read carefully? I did a "close reading of Frank Kermode" O SON OF BEING! Love Me, that I may [sic ] love thee. If thou lovest Me not, My love can in no wise reach thee. Know this, O servant. (old English with embellishment of Seyyed Shoghi Effendi) يَا ابْنَ الوُجُودِ أَحْبِبْني لأُحِبَّكَ إِنْ لَمْ تُحِبَّنِي لَنْ أُحِبَّكَ أَبَداً فَاعْرِف يا عَبْدُ O son of existence LOVE me so I will LOVE you. If you do not LOVE me, I will never LOVE you. Know, O slave. 1. Love me! I Will LOVE you! 2.If you don't, I Will never (أَبَداً) LOVE you Entailment: I LOVE only Who loves Me! So by his sacred words Bahaullah loves *only* those Who love Him. The same person Who Said: LOVE your enemy?

@@JamshidRowshanI don't need to speak Arabic. Shoghi Effendi is the only authoritative translator before the Universal House of Justice. Mr. Dunbar may have verbally misquoted but you seem to be taking issue with the official Scripture as translated by the Guardian and House. If that's not the case then my apologies. My understanding of the official translation is that God's love is always available to us as long as we turn to him.

@@andrewpage4250 thank you for your time. For the moment: Excerpt from a letter by the Guardian, 14 August 1930 Concerning the different translations of the Words. It is surely the original text that should never be changed. The translations will continue to vary as more and better translations are made. Shoghi Effendi does not consider *even his own* translations as final, how much more translations made in the early days of the Cause in the West when no competent translators existed. -- From a letter on behalf of the Guardian to John Hyde Dunn, 14 August 1930
