I was under the impression that Romans 10:13 was talking about a believer (Romans 10:14) calling upon the name of the Lord for temporal salvation... am I wrong? We are saved the moment we believe correct?

If you have believed in the death, burial and resurrection. You are saved in a moment. Bro James will be covering these verses in more detail. But the outline in Romans is that the first two and a half chapters lay out the case against the world (Gentiles, chapter 1 & Jews, chapter 2 & both, beginning of chapter 3). Towards the end of chapter 3, God begins to outline how one can be justified, just as if they had never sinned. Chapters 3,4,5 have been called the "greatest Gospel tract".

@@JamesWKnoxSermons Amen. I LOVE Romans 3-8! I believe the exact same way. For 1 year i called upon the name of the Lord hundreds of times... i was saved, but I never recieved assurance of salvation because i thought prayer was part of salvation. Now i understand the context of Romans 10 and i dont mention it when I witness. Thanks for the response! God bless

Just remember you can use the truth of Gods word to teach a truth. All verses are not written to you, unless you are of the nation of Israel (OT). But all verses are for our learning for our admonitions. And are available for use. Example, we should not build an arch as Noah did to escape the wrath of God. But we can use those verses to teach truth in witnessing. We can, from this story show God will pour out wrath against sin. Yet he will also make a way of escape. He will always warn. Romans 10:13 is a truth we believe you can use in witnessing. As calling on the Lord is necessary. Not necessarily with your mouth, but from your heart. Not praying a prayer. There are many that give an altar call and people come forth and pray at an altar, but it's not necessary for salvation. If you respond to the word, ask; call on God to save you standing in the pew. God will save you. CJ

@@JamesWKnoxSermons you call after you are a saved believer. (Romans 10:14 KJV) How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? What saves calling or believing. Answer= believing. So what kind of salvation is this referring to? It has to be physical not spiritual in this context. This verse is used wrongly to support the "sinners prayer".

Does Pastor Knox have a teaching on Matthew 24?

Thank you for these teachings. I'm still a little confused on if they are saved by what they did or didn't do for the Jews (works) or if they were already not saved to begin with? Or could it be both? Would the mark of the beast have anything to do with this? I was taught people are saved by Faith & works in other dispensations. I'm trying to understand brother Knox side. I love his teachigs, I just wanna make sure I understand correctly. Were they not saved because of there works, or were they not saved to begin with, why or why not? Do you have scripture to cross reference with. Much love God Bless
