@Tomatou-zt8rw I've tried both and I find mental focus better. But that's honestly me. Sharp precision shot is great if you want to sit down and mag dump. But when you face enemies like gluttony that can one shot you...you need to be able to dodge. With mental focus you can dodge and maintain your bonus. You cannot do this with sps. I suggest trying both for yourself, but I generally prefer mental focus when the magazine size is 120 or more

Appreciate your content 👍 I suspect the way the damage is calculated is their perspective. eg. weak point module doesn't increase dps shown because they're not assuming you'll be hitting weak points all the time, but something like expand weapon is calculated because you'll always be shooting. 🤷‍♂

I'd suggest everyone try replacing mental focus with sharp precision shot and seeing how it feels. I definitely prefer it, but each to his own.

Having tested both, it does far less. This is because Mental Focus stacks up to far more damage per shot which is then multiplied by the massive crit multiplier. Sharp Precision shot only helps you mag dump faster, but it does way less overall DPS. Plus, the problem with SPS is that you must hold down the trigger to get the benefit. You cannot dodge and keep your bonus or trigger a skill and keep your bonus. So yeah, Mental Focus is roughly double the value of SPS in all situations.

@@RealAsianRobot Yes, I agree with you now. After having used both, Mental Focus allowing you to dodge around and not lose your stacks is far more useful. SPS can feel cool when the fire rate really ramps up into a buzzsaw, but the flexibility of MF is just better. Add in that overall it does more damage in the long run as well, and I admit I was wrong and RealAsianRobot is right. As he usually is!

Hey so i tried your build and just wanted to give my 2 cents. I got consistently more damage with fire priority swapped with edging shot. I tested this but shooting one full clip with each mod on a weakspot several times. I really do believe after seeing the results that edging shot is not to be slept on. Just thought I'd let you know.

@xtruemarksmenx4563 Thanks but in my tests Edging Shot performed worse than insight focus. I do my testing by checking colossus kill times consistently on the same character over several runs and recording them on a spreadsheet. Overall, edging shot costs too much for too little gain, try insight focus instead and you'll see your damage do better than edging shot will. But at the end of the day, if you feel comfortable with it. Then feel free to use it.

I'm sorry but you said you're demonstrating Fire Priority vs Inside Focus build, but you're comparing using a descendent with a weakpoint mod that gets like 100% crit with her #3 ability, against descendent who gets only unlimited ammo, and using a fire build against a fire resistant boss, and unlimited ammo isnt that beneficial on a already large size clip, especially when going against a Private mode boss, which is very easy in comparison. Idk, just doesn't seem like a fair comparison for someone to choose which mod to use based upon that. I like your videos, always helpful, but this just annoyed me.

The test was actually done on stream not in this video. This vid was just to demonstrate the build in question. Sorry if that was unclear. When we tested on stream, we adjusted Fire Priority for Insight Focus which performed better on Gley and Hailey both. Hope this answers your question. The video is just to show the options available, we DID NOT do the comparison on the video, again, apologies for that being unclear

This weapon does more damage to burned enemies so you need to be able to apply burn through fire rolled on the weapon or a mod. Having fire attack on the weapon is solid

I went with Edging Shot. Gives an effective 8,6% more Critrate, up to 36,4% and 6.78x Critdamage. I mean you loose 15% Firearm ATK, but Mental Focus gives so much to it. Diminishing returns and so.... Do you think Fire Priority is stronger? I will test with Focus Fire too.

We've done an edging shot test before. It worsened the kill time so badly that we never used it again. Try for yourself and measure the kill times over several runs. It gets bad unfortunately 😥

@zartius I would say, test it for yourself. I've always used Mental Focus and it's done very well for me Sharp precision shot is nice, but all it does is dump the mag faster. It also is worse when you have to dodge and fire again. Mental focus you can dodge and still resume attacking.

So Question, why not run any Mag size increases? You can get over 200 rounds in the mag and have 50+ extra rounds at the full 150% bonus FireArm Attack from the Mental Focus Mod. Would that not increase the over all DPS per reload cycle especially with this on Enzo with his bonuses for the full mag before reloading.

For Enzo specifically, I would say that's a very solid, but on other characters it may not do so well. I have no run this on Enzo yet, but I can see why the Mag size increase would be beneficial over insight focus :D. So you aren't wrong. I have one mag size increase on it for the general build (expanded). The gley one obviously doesn't need it

@RealAsianRobot yea I 100% missed the expanded mag mod when watching it initially 😅. But I have a friend with a maxed out Enzo I just only had a thunder cage previously and was only getting 30 shots before reloading and losing his buff. Also I was able to use the sliding 4 animation on Hailey to get his ammo buff on the 4 skill sniper shots. I was not able to test dmg. But just seeing the buff applied during the animation. I'll ask him if we can test on devourer next time we play together. Really enjoy your content!

@@RealAsianRobot The timer is a personal one at the stage you unlock the ultimate. Its a shitty tactic to pressure players to buy. Gley is awful by the way. Just an over engineered, complicated selfish DPS class. All she does is speed kill a boss to avoid any and all mechanics and deprives others of a fun fight. Just like all the ridiculous DPS classes. This game is just a mean teasy weapon used to hurt real people who like games. Because they believe women are cool and men drool. NO! Women are the ones that objectify other women because they are in direct competition with them. MEN appreciate these character models, like bunny and gley but nexon just uses them as bait. Your build is boring and bunny is the most fun class and can do anything.

@BM-zp9md I generally would not recommend the fire roll as you cannot increase your base firearm atk in any other way. Your best bet would be to put something like Focus Fire into the build if you want to keep the Fire Atk. It's not that great, but it should help you at least do some extra damage with the other mods that you have. But remember in future. All guns must get a Firearm Atk roll, this is the most important one

Because with higher level fights like Gluttony, you can't just sit and hold down the trigger. You need to dodge his insane attacks, Mental Focus stays for 2 seconds, allowing you to dodge, shoot once, retain the bonus and dodge again. it allows for more skillful play overall :D. You can only use 1 ultimate mod. And you can choose fire rate up or fire rate concentration. I prefer Fire Rate Up.

I would say the choice is yours, some go for Fire Atk, but I very much prefer Atk vs Colossus and just build the fire element into the gun itself :). Since it already halfs the enemy's fire resistance, for anything other than Pyro, you will melt, so that's why I didn't go elemental on this one

Up to you. See which does better for you. I run insight focus as I hate the reload time increase of fire priority, but considering the fact that the whole gun is about lowering fire resist...I think you can kind of see why Fire Priority is pretty good overall. Especially since you can just cancel the reload with a roll once you hit 60%. Try both and see which fits you better

slow art + superheated gunbarrel + sharp precision shot = molten fortress meatball destroyer. Honestly you'll probably hate this build because the fire rate is just awful but it's a good way to turn weapons which have bad recoil into weakpoint weapons, the decreased fire rate extends the lifetime of your magazine so you can go full auto without wasting too much ammo to hit difficult shots.

DPH =/= DPS. DPH is damage per hit, which simply means what it says on the tin. DPS is the consistent damage over time you deal, and is what actually matters when dealing with fights that have enrage timers (such as against Colossus). This is like… basic level knowledge.

@hexerin A colossus going into frenzy is not a timer based effect. It is based on the amount of damage you deal. If you barely hurt the colossus, it will not enrage quickly. You can test this by going in with mods vs without mods. Dealing big hits faster is what matters as this will directly affect your kill time and also increase the damage to parts which allows for a faster knockdown of the colossus (giving you a precious few seconds to squeeze in more damage). Therefore you want to go for the biggest hits possible and deal them out as fast as possible as well.

All the DPS trolls are funny, Robot has shown in a few videos how DPS on the weapons screen is calculated by weapon speed and magazine size at base damage. This video showed that elemental damage and weak point was not calculated in the silly DPS number. How many other damage improving stats are not shown in the DPS numbers. DPS numbers also assume your unloading a full clip after clip into something, when in reality thats not always the case, by increasing DPH you’re effectively increasing your DPS and this DPH is not shown in the DPS weapon calculations.

My guy, the DPS is based on your weapon rolls. Make sure to have the same gold rolls as me and you'll be fine :P I have 158k because of the gold rolls, you cannot craft a gold roll. You have to make it level 100 and then REROLL using the adjustments. If you need to learn more, please tune in to streams and ask questions. Even my chat can help!

I am going to assume your whole dps trap section was just worded poorly. DPS matters more than Damage per hit. The DPS in game on the weapon stats, IS inaccurate, but not as you said. It leaves out things like weak point damage, weaknesses, etc. More magazine capacity is more damage in a shorter time. Just big number is big number, but how quickly you apply high damage vs slightly lower damage can make a big difference in short fights. Funny thing is, you seem to understand it in the rest of your video. Gley doesn't nees expanded magazine, because of infinite ammo. But others do need it. It's a balance you have to strike. If you go full damage per hit, and then spend a lot of time reloading, you are lowering your dps. Idk man, just feel like your dps trap section is deliberately bad info or badly worded. Decent video otherwise.

I think you misunderstand the idea of the DPS trap. What I am warning against, is blindly following the 'Bigger DPS amount' without actually taking into account other modules that have an impact on your damage without actually boosting the 'DPS number'. Unfortunately, many players are sucked in by the DPS number, without understanding what is actually increasing damage. However, almost everyone clearly understood the info and I never give deliberately bad info.
