I am a fan of Enduro. I race, ride and follow it myself... it does make me sad that there was better coverage and support back in the early EWS days. We fans and riders need to make sure we balance our disappointment with some suggestions and give props for the positives. If not I fear it will drop off even more, as it is we all know the rumors that in the next year or two it will be all E-Enduro. I hope that is not true. I have been riding and racing mtb's for 30+ years and feel like Enduro is the most inclusive of all the racing types. That said I really am confused as to the push for E-Enduro, nobody I know or ride with that has an e-bike would do one or is remotely interested in E-Enduro? "Enduro is dead, Long Live Enduro!"

The combined content of the riders with KZbin channels blows this out of the water. Feels like the coverage is being done by outsiders with no inside angles or knowledge aka the local news. Too bad enduro is treated like a stepchild because the racing is A+.

Thanks for the round up of the first UCI enduro race of 2024. Enduro can be so much more, we gotta figure out how to cover this sport 'more', give it the same treatment as XC & DH, (it's so good).

The cover of DH is really bad, making a paywall was the worst idea ever, and last year we could watch the semis for free on youtube, this year we couldn't... How is the interest for the sport suppose to grow if can't even watch what we love, because we gotta pay for it ? Before with RedBull the cover was the same quality or maybe better, and the commentators were way better, and it was for free. There is nothing better now with DH cover, NOTHING.

Go back and watch old ews Its not too dissimilar hence why sponsors are slowly moving away. When it was a fresh format they sold bikes like mad but now people are moving to ebikes, enduro sales are downward trending and wont ever shoot up again because buying cycles are longer because our bikes have peaked. The format is dead not because of the uci but because we simply dont have the buyers and new buyers want ebikes too

I’m new to mtb (last year) and didn’t watch EDR last year. This was a pretty cool edit for a new fan. I do think they should add the live stream to HBO or whatever streaming service for the respective country. These are like the DH, XCO, XCC highlights, not exactly ‘race coverage’.

Great to see Callaghan back on top. Rae Morrison looking fast. Ella Conolly is a dreamboat, happy to see her running well. Maes, gosh, it's good to see him on top again. Adrian Dailly, had some fast times, hopefully he's recovered from so many injuries. And so many others, geez, I love this race format. Can't wait for a new venue in Poland next week. Guys, I didn't like this coverage at all! I expected to see more riding, more interviews with not only TOP 3 riders, but there are a lot of other interesting and capable atheletes. You were discussing possible lines on "DH Man", but I didn't see what section exactly you were talking about. In my point of view the whole coverage was a mess. Should I expect more if I pay for Eurosport?

You clearly shouldn't expect more, the covers for both DHI and Enduro are getting worse, last year we had DH semis for free on youtube, this year we don't, at least for Fort William we did not. Making people pay was the worst idea ever, because there is so much people who won't pay because it's just not worth it and also 'cause it was free... And they think that this will grow the interest in the sport ?

Need longer highlights segments with longer POV runs, showing some of the top guys POV's back to back, to give a better sense of the racing actually happening. Think WRC/Rally coverage. It doesn't need to be over-produced. Throw some commentary on top of longer form POV runs, inter-spliced with some track side highlights and it'll be a much more compelling package. You can't keep throwing out the exact same types of highlights with Enduro slipping in popularity and hope for things to get better. Josh Carlson is excellent, though. Good to hear him doing these highlights.

I thought this was a really good round up of the race, Josh did a great job and I'm sure with more rounds and building experience he'll get even better. I'm looking forward to the rest of the season. Maybe for all the haters saying they want a longer video there could be extended highlights of each stage? Personally as someone with a young family and a busy job this hit the spot time wise.

Lots of harsh comments... I think this was a great recap video. Maybe a bit short (only 15mn for the main race). Live video coverage is not realistic. If we can have a better "live result" page and this kind of quality recap videos (maybe a bit longer) it's already good. I find that there is a big step up since last year and I'm shure they will continue to improve.

Visually looked good and Josh is doing a great job. It didn't have the energy of Moi Texi TV and was too late to come out, and for how long it took to get out was expecting something a lot longer. If this was delayed for E-EDR (understand you need to try and build that) just don't - you lose the impetus of the EDR racing in the moment, and I am sure the viewing stats will show people switching off after the EDR is done. It's a shame because I think you did a good job providing snippets over the weekend. Tried following the official EDR coverage but will stick down DH and rider coverage, I think.

What there should be is a live televised powerstage like in WRC, make it the last stage of each Enduro, doesn't have to be the longest of stages as long as there's enough cameras and good commentary 👍 get to it UCI and Discovery+

Why can't Discovery give an hour slot to enduro? It just makes no sense to me. They're currently repeating episodes of other sports on eurosport, so it's not like they don't have the availability. Josh doing a cracking job and production quality felt up there that this could be used on TV. It's just hampered by lack of time to actually show the racing. No split screen showing side by side riders etc all the stuff you guys started doing last season... POV shots? We're here to see these absolute legends flying through trails at speeds we can only dream of!

Enduro season was something we watched as a family, even my 70 years old mother jumped in the wagon and felt the excitement. With the way theyre covering this you cant know what happened to any racer, it feels the same as reading the positions table. We feel the quality began to progrsively decrease after the year GMBN gave coverage, the good old EWS races were a lot better. The organizers need to keep in mind that eventhough KZbin is a free platform its the place where the discipline grew. We need it to be shown in a way you can keep track of the racers and get to know what happened with the top ones.

Only 22mins of coverage, a 2 day delay until live, no U21, minimal details on what actually happened on each stage beyond this person finished here and this person finished there. We can all read a timing sheet, tell us why people had good/bad stages and finished in that position. Also, what's going on with the weird pronunciation of most racers' names, even the easier European names e.g. Adrian Dailey/Hattie Harnden? Why would a sponsor ever support riders for this coverage?! Please please please separate e-enduro into a separate video, so we can just ignore.

Enduro needs better coverage, but we just admit it's a hard sport to cover, much like WRC. I would like to see 50% camera coverage of the longest stage, the most technical stage, then the final stage. I understand that's a lot of cameras and uplinks to figure out, but even a post-produced 2hr show running all the footage together with commentary as if it were in the moment would be fine.

I get that live streaming an enduro event is way harder then DH for lots of reasons but, as others have said, 20ish minutes for two days of riding, come on. You could at least have cameras in place and get footage of the top 5 men and women, throughout the stages, not full runs, just a highlight reel. @@lozzaridesemtb well that would be a fun problem to solve. 1. Maybe pick 3 sections of interest on each stage. (Looks like there is already fixed camera for existing coverages). 2. Show live timing 3. Have 2 crews already set on first 2 stages 4. After stage 1, move that to stage 3. Stage 2 goes to 4. Etc 5. Show interviews or stage analysis on traverse (like F1 does in qualifying for ex) Don’t know all the answers, but with current affordable technologies and some creativity I reckon the uni can put together some compelling content coverage for Enduro. It just takes some ideas to grow from the way they already cover XC and DH.

Several years ago before ESO/WB/Discovery took over the coverage, the EWS coverage was pretty good, and that was when one EWS round was over 2 or 3 days with decent post race videos. The coverage of DH & XCO has also dropped since Red Bull were dropped, and Red Bull showed it for free. Camera angles are poor, fake audio being played over the coverage, poor commentary the list is endless.
