I'm still working on getting a class for each type to max level and I picked DRG for my melee DPS. I went from snoozefest leveling to having a constant panic attack. Didn't want to dorp the class because the time i've put into it so I just sucked it up toll 90 and I haven't touched the class since. It took me 900h to get through the entire MSQ as a PLD. For reference: Sage and Scholar shields don't override each other... Sage just overrides Scholar. You can crit adol deploy and it'll get over written by a tiny Sage shield. Yoshi P has favorites.

@@MegaManJake i heard a lot of people complain that gnb rotation is harder and needs more inputs, but i have been playing this class since launch and have never had a problem at all. Likely because i have a very specific setup, i use specific macros that i don't see other gunbreakers use, some of my buttons are bound to several skills, making it so when i need to do followup skill, one button manages all of them. I genuinely don't see why gunbreaker is hard, the class has so much macro potential and you can basically do your entire rotation, perfect, without taking your eyes off the screen.

@@LeeSong325 Reapers group buff, "Arcane Cricle" has a part to it that where when a party member with the buff uses a GCD they get a stack(up to 8 if each party member uses a gcd) that then lets them use one of their bigger skills that does more damage the more stacks you have. So you do less damage if not everyone uses a gcd

6.1 in general was a godsend for DRKs. Living Dead became a real boi. Stalwart Soul became accessible from Lv.40, giving us a full AoE rotation outside of Shadowbringers. Blood Weapon gained its charges. Literally three of the main changes people asked for finally delivered in full.

@@KinghtofZero00 Objectively, not too hard. But for us SAM is no longer the DPS powerhouse it used to be. And with Kaiten being axed, it feels really awkward managing proper Kenki numbers for optimal rotation.

@@KinghtofZero00 Samurai is sorta viable, but as crit buffs don't currently work on it, and it's damage has moved away from meteoric burst windows, (and thereby taking good advantage of raid buffs) it's about 3-4% below other melee DPS. Add onto that the lobotomy it got from Kaiten (the charge up before an Iaijutsu) being removed, essentially making your gauge a shintin button, and the AoE damage being both braindead and shit now, and you're left with a less than 4% pickrate in basically all content.

Nope, sage really struggle with healing chipped damage unless you learn to rotate kardia around. If tank is holding aggro, you cab slap him with haima and slap a party member with kardia until they are fully healed then rotate back. Sage IS pretty damn good against raid wide aoe damage so almost no one should be under 100% hp.

it's something to do with how FPS affects your gcd as part of some ancient spaghetti code, iirc, MNK specifically ends up with the short end of the stick for some reason i can't quite remember but i think it can cost them dps? it's a really minor thing, too, iirc, but it adds up

It's a whole bunch of jank about how the game reads inputs depending on your framerate and gcd speed, so you can technically loss dps if you don't play at an optimal framerate (according to your melds) since you'll ever so slightly clip or not hit your gcd at the most optimal time... It's weird. You can look for the "mnk optimization guide"; it's a doc that goes pretty in depth on it, also A LOT of cursed info lmao. Either that or you can search for "mnk 121 fps" and you'll eventually land on the doc.

I must be in the huge minority because GNB makes a ton of sense at 90 to me and is fun to play Everything just works, keeping the combo flowing always brings me to 3 cartridges for no mercy and cooldowns line up Hypervelocity took some getting used to, but it’s not hard at all to double weave defensives with it and if I need to move I can just. . .not burst strike there?

90 GNB is fine in fights with perma uptime but it becomes extremely cursed with extended downtime due to how strict the rotation is for building 3 charges for No Mercy (otherwise you drift gnashing or double down), compared to how flexible the priority system was in 80 Dragonsong Ultimate GNB POVs are painful to watch because of the amount of charge/bloodfest holding required

GNB at 90 flows perfectly until you hit downtime and drift your main damage cooldowns. There's an easy solution for that by making Double Down have an adaptive cartridge cost (1 at 2 stocked, 2 at 3 stocked, with adapted potency of course) so you could still enter the damage window with just 2 carts without having drift, but we'll have to see if that ever gets figured out by the designers. I absolutely love hypervelocity though, it's so satisfying.

Most of the time, videos like this are made with optimization in mind, and of course a bit of fun thrown in. lvl 90 GNB is perfectly fine for any content if you're just going through rotations without trying to parse every fight. Then again, if you're not parsing even in roulette, are you truly playing FF14?

Don't do that actually, you should be doing a maximum of 2 oGCDs between your weaponskills otherwise you'll clip your GCDs leading to a dps loss

@@KajuKajuKatli you can look up the balance opener, but the key of all FFXIV rotations is weaving (aka stuffing 1-2 ogcds between your GCD clock skills), since you always want to be rolling your gcds for maximum dps output, and basically using the "spaces" between them to use your abilities like buffs or jumps

@@simonefiumicini depending on the meta, GEO is either the best or the second best support class in the game. It and Corsair are basically the most in demand jobs at all times.

Has Doton literally ever been a gain in single target over raiton? It's been bad for so long and people still mess this up.

From what I've read it could maybe possibly, if the target is in the puddle for the full duration and assuming insane crit luck on the damage ticks, be a slight gain over raiton. Maybe.

@@akrob1152 Maybe before(but it's more likely raiton crits for much more anyway) but now we have raijus, and also doton takes an extra half second of extra mudra gcd.
