With the release of this documentary, Al Jazeera again demonstrates why it is the probably one of the best news sources in the world. Great in depth fact based reporting. Almost a clinical research of the events which have taken place in the region with sources which have been on the ground and with the government from all sides. #biasfree #brilliant

Faraz Khan It is definitely one of the best. I get the feeling there has been a bit of internal restructuring recently because the quality of investigative programming has gone up quite a fair bit. +Faraz Khan Yes a lot was left out of documentary for political reasons. The roles of Qatar and Saudi Arabia were not mentioned once, which is really quite absurd. Al Jazeera is an important news source for world events. Like Russia Today it presents a lot of important viewpoints which would never get an airing in the mainstream U.S. media, but also like RT, it's completely worthless when reporting on its host country.

Because this is not what brings AD dollars. They live and die on advertisers. This is good and interesting but it’s not going to be entertaining enough to the masses to bring sufficient income. Al Jazeera doesn’t need to be profitable, it is subsidized by Qatar oil money. It can bleed money and just aim for high quality journalism. This is the viewers fault. If viewers voted with their views in large enough numbers, this is the kind of thing that would be profitable and therefore the kind of thing that would air.

Agree! The arrogant way American and English celeb reporters interviews leaders from the other side, like Bashar Assad, is a torture to watch. They are completely incapable of following their guests thoughts and ideas, so the interview is getting nowhere. They are superior and their guest, as cool as Bashar Assad is, must agree with them. The other way around is not possible. I think it's called to brainwash their audience. Just hang in there, admit to nothing, make your point over and over and do so for an entire hour, in the worst case. I call it minus-journalism. You learn less by watching.

It's interesting to listen to people who know what they are talking about and have courage enough to admit mistakes their own country have done. It's a great analysis of what has happened to Iraq and why it happened. I have always been puzzled over the lack of ideas the US has once the last shot is fired. As strong as they are as a military force, as weak they are in winning the peace. It's like they expect the place to be like Arkansas. No need to know anything about customs, culture, traditions, history etc. Just roll over them and hold a parade. The reaction in firing every officer in the Iraqi army instead of winning them over, which was a real possibility, should have been expected.

He personally deserves the blame he so cunningly lays at the feet of the US: "Khedery was among a handful of Iraq experts tapped by the White House, the Pentagon, and the State Department "to assist with the American transition and assess U.S. policy regarding Iraq's stagnant government formation process." He is described as the "architect and chief political negotiator for Exxon's entry into the Kurdish region" by the Assyrian International News Agency in a piece in which Khedery is quoted as describing the move as foolish to question." How readily he stabs his old masters in the back. Except he does not admit HIS OWN INVOLVEMENT as the chief architect of stealing Kurdish oil for EXXON. This is why Al Jazeera cannot be trusted.

Isil has only develepoed this far because they haven't come up against a formidable force. Their main opponents have been unorganized militias and rebel groups, the iraqi army (that part on mosul, seriously?), the assadi regime who were destrenghtened from the civil war, and kurdish forces (who with the help of coalition members have been bitching isis as of late, while simaltaneously getting air striked from the Turkish, Russians and Assadi's), and coalition airstrikes, which effects are limited without the boots on the ground. The thought of isis coming up against an established fighting force like the Turkish, Iranian, Saudi ect army is laughable. They can take advantage of the power vaccum in Syria and Iraq all they want and as long as the coalition countries permit it, however the thought of them getting any further afield isn't atall likely.

This documentary was the best I ever seen on the jihadist movement and the middle East conflict, great work by Al Jazeera who in my opinion leads and has lead the best balanced coverage of the conflict from the get go,I appreciate their work because any form of transparency from Western media will never happen, they merely support the views of the ruling class who they are controlled by. Though I'm not a Muslim I must say that ISIS was a great Inspiration. Though I do not agree with their religious ideology and some of their policies but I greatly respect their tenacity as warriors and their fighting back against the imperialist oppressors who terrorise the people of the world who happen to always be people of color so I do sympathize with their overall reasons for fighting which is because of oppression and foriegn domination and imperialist terrorism that has ran rampant on the majority of people on this Earth. Again great work by Al Jazeera,we people of humanity appreciate your more balanced coverage of the realities of the world we live in and I will forever stand with the oppressed people's of this world who only want to have some sort of decent life on this Earth like everybody else but are victims of the greed and evil of this plague that spilled out of Europe hundreds of years ago that causes the majority of people of the world to suffer from their inhuman evil and wicked nature, long live the oppressed and may victory be with the true well wishers of humanity, again I'm not a supporter of ISIS but I do understand the overall reasons for why they fight.

Otherwise the Sunnis denounce the Shia because of their focus on the prophet's family. Isn't these Taqfiris doing the same thing here? What do you say, mr. Banerjee? I can tell by your name that you are from Bengal, so you may know these issues.
