If the game allows the input freely than fine, if not then it's not ok. Since I use m&k on the daily I know how the benefits of having the right set up can compare to that of the average controller user and I can say as of now that m&k does give an unfair advantage over controller users so that means it's cheating. Modern Warfare is introducing this when the game comes out next month. But like sarin said there will be input matching so you would be in the same lobby with players who are using the same input for controls, regardless of which system they're playing on. So even PS4 and Xbox1 players will be playing against PC players in the same lobby but those PC players would be using a controller to play instead of M&K. And vice versa for those console players who use M&K.... It sounds good in theory but I can tell you now, this will most definitely be exploited further than it already has been in the beta.

To me people just sound fucking dumb when they complain about these things like if you want the scorestreaks, you want the kda, you want to have a good time mowing down people as fast as you can trying to get as much as kills and objectives in a game, then why not use what is OPTIMAL FOR YOU. People complaining about you using a XIM, but in reality, the TTK in MW3 really made it to whoever had the faster REACTION TIME got the kills. Controller or KB, doesnt matter, aim was a very little component. And even then, with the aim assist, controller aim is very easy to master. I loved MW3, and I hope it comes to a next gen console in some way.

It's only an "advantage" because very little people play MW2 or 3 these days, and with the "amount of commitment, the OP had to commit to learn to use the device" So basically he plays against people who don't exactly buy the newest things, they don't shell out all the fanciest upgrades. AJMG you’re just ignorant. There is literally a cap to what controllers can do aiming wise. A mouse takes away that limit meaning there is a hardware advantage when dealing with aiming. Also, there is never a time on mouse where he has to take his hand off the shoot button considering that it is a mouse. Unless the guy was playing claw, he was at a disadvantage as soon as the game started. I don’t think he’s bad because of this but I just believe that doing this in a 5-man vs a solo player doesn’t really prove anything
