Sir then wat z the total atp produced in aerobic respiration?
@hussainbiology4 жыл бұрын
30 to 32 Why this ambiguity is bcz the NADH produced in Glycolysis are present in Cytoplasm, so in order to deliver them into ETC we need to put them into Matrix of Mitochondria so for that we have shuttles. Malate and Glycerol Shuttle. ✓NADH sent to Mitochondria via Malate yields = 2.5 ATPs or 3 ATPs ( 3 Atps for lower classes ) ✓ NADH sent to Mitochondria via Glycerol Shuttle yields : 1.5 ATPs ( or 2 ATPs for lower classes) That is why we get difference of two ATPs.

Can youe explain how glycolysis form 2 net ATP? Because we add 2 ATP in 1st step and 2 phosphate in 3rd step so how 2 net ATP are produced while we have the phosphates is it re-arranging or producing?
@varunkumar-ee7jq3 жыл бұрын
Bro very simple the ATP u get towards the end of reactions are not 1 as given in ncert They r 2*1=2(because the BPGA and PEP are 3 carbon compounds and hence it utilises one ATP but we r accounting for 6 carbon glucose hence we have to multiply by 2) Therefore u have 2 steps producing 2ATPs which equals 4ATP synthesised and 2 is consumed in the start as u said Hence net gain=2ATP

Actually i have summarised all together ,,,, I have included the 2 NADH from Pyruvate oxidation ( Pyruvate to Acetyl COA ) that is why it is 8 NADH , if we exclude Pyruvate oxidation then it is 6 NADH.

Isn't net result of glycolysis 8ATP? I'm in class 11
@hussainbiology4 жыл бұрын
Net Result of Glycolysis is 2 ATPs + 2 NADH ✓ 1 NADH then later generates 2.5 ATP in ETC Means Glycolysis generates 2 ATPs + (2 NADH = 5 atps) so a total of 7 ATPs.. But if we assume 1 NADH generates 3 ATPs in ETC ( like we study in lower classes ) that takes a toll to 8 ATPs.

If u are studying for lower classes like at Secondary level then stick to ur books. This one is for higher studies where even 0.5 ATPs matter. 1 NADH in ETC Yields 2.5 ATP,s not 3 .and FADH2 yields 1.5 ATPs not 2. But for lower studies we opt out the fractions and go for 3 and 2 ATps respectively.
