The hospital said that the people exhibited symptoms of chemical burns. I think that they have taken swabs of the area trying to identify the chemical.

I'm thinking UV light. Gives all the symptoms described and when shined with an array of other stage lighting wouldn't seem out of place. Could be malicious or accidental.

One person did say the dr told them it was a chemical burn but couldn't identify the chemical. Possibly because the eyes had been flushed out before seeing the Dr. Just something I heard.

mercury-vapor lamp is a gas-discharge lamp that uses an electric arc through vaporized mercury to produce light.[1] The arc discharge is generally confined to a small fused quartz arc tube mounted within a larger soda lime or borosilicate glass bulb.[1] The outer bulb may be clear or coated with a phosphor; in either case, the outer bulb provides thermal insulation, protection from the ultraviolet radiation the light produces, and a convenient mounting for the fused quartz arc tube.[1] If the outter glass is broken you can get serious UV radiation exsposure. While this type of lighting has mostly been replaced with LED lighting it is still used in warehouses and arenas for its bright light.
