You can give us your POB and maybe we could help. Make sure to hit the CoC numbers: CDR, Attack speed, 100% hit chance. Dont forget to take the +3 lvl to crit gems for the CDR breakpoint. Also make sure that you reserve as much hp as you can.

For anyone playing this build, this is how you craft a stygian like the one in the vid: 1. Grab a ilevel 85 stygian with crusader influence and alt spam it to get one crusader mod that's cooldown. (35-ish C) 2. Grab any hunter belt with t1 increased attributes on trade and make sure it only has one hunter mod which is increased attributes. (15C?) If you can't find one, u can alt spam here too 3. Use an awakener orb. Click on the hunter belt then click on your stygian. Now your belt has both increased attribute % and cooldown recovery. (50-60c?) 4. (Optional) If the prefixes are bad you can lock suffixes and hit it with a veiled chaos (2 div). You can also aisling slam after locking suffix if you already have a good prefix but you can craft another belt or two with that much investment. If you use your own bubblegum currency like alts and stuff, it only takes a little over a div to get a stygian with the two main stats you want Also I can confirm it's an excellent build on a 20div budget but with soulrend, might be hard to do juiced t16's without nimis. Don't underestimate juicing like t11 burial chambers and such though until you get the nimis

Dumb q but in both belt cases it's only allowed to have 1 mod? So the first stygian has 1 mod which is the influencer cd and the hunter belt has 1 mod which is increased attr? Or should they be the ONLY influenced mods among other mods?

I managed to make that build and it's incredible! I could clear simu 30 maybe not deathless because of skill issue, but overall build is pretty fun to play. I guess I just forgot the abyss slot in weapon. I'll have to check if I can fit it in now. The %str I don't know. I'll also have to check if I can fit it in or not. I'm not doing a heavy attribute stacking, just a mediocre one. So I need the power charge on crit and base crit charms. It depends if the % str is a prefix or suffix. I also need the frenzy on hit charm because my attack speed would be too low without them. The cons ground gives good regen. I don't know, will look around. Good questions and tips for anyone creating something similar.

Happy to hear that! Nimis can push the build into another level. Try to figure out what kills you, if you have the nvidia shadowplay stuff you can save the last 5 mins and just watch it in slow motion, or start recording your simulacrum runs. You also kind of have to understand the 2 unique bigboys, they can hit hard.

crit comes from str and int (whichever is lower), power charges, crit at max power charge, crit implicit on gloves, precision. check those out. you can also modify the passive tree a bit and get more crit around the Shadow starter area if needed. You can also get a second crit chance at max power charges charm if needed

That unique belt is a cheap starter belt. You can use that until you can craft or afford a stygian with cooldown reduction and increased attributes. By itself a generic Stygian is not good for this build.

Note though, that with Energy Blade it doesn't matter what's in your main hand. NOTHING will carry over to Energy Blade, that's a completely new item. It only saves your number of sockets, the colors of those sockets and their links, nothing else. Your effective trigger rate is 9.79 with Ice Spear. ou just forgot to set the Cyclone of Tumult to the 6th stage before checking out the spell :D In game you should see that your Attack speed is this 9.79, and you have 100% crit chance. So this was only an issue with setting u POB to check the numbers. You're all good!

hi great build i love it with soulrend map clean is very smooth same as fps :D but what can we do for soulrend solotarget dmg? my build is budget enough around 10 div and i have to swap soul for icespear to kill bosses. did i miss something from the video?

IF you can cap your 100% hit chance, 100% crit chance and can hit a higher CDR breakpoint, the Soulrend single target DPS should be enough to kill Map bosses and most of the rares cleanly. You just have to wait until the projectiles return and can hit the target. Ice Spear is unmatched in single target DPS and the damage is just there, instantly. So check your numbers in POB, especially the effective trigger rate. That's the most easy thing to faq up, someone else also linked his POB, and it had the same issue, so his DPS was HALF of what it should have been. Until you put more gear / currency in your build your option would be to just quickly swap to Ice pear to kill something that's significantly tankioer / harder.

Made this build 1-1 as in POB with the exception of nimis and didn't do wildwood ascendancy and it can't handle deli maps - it's much harder to get to wave 8 deli layer in comparison to my starter poison srs witch has only capped block + res + suppress (and costs ~20d). Will try ice nova, maybe it will be better for deli maps but ice spear is super squishy

I cant say whats the issue, I got a few comments that people made this build with less then 15 divs and it works great. Nimis is a big upgrade, unfortunately became expensive this league. But if you swap gmp for return proj the shotgunning will work just not as effectively. If you have this mich trouble probably there is also an issue with the efevtive trigger rate of the skill. At the beginnig when I struggled to make it work I got a cheap gain ES on hit watchers eye. I could level up from lvl 70 to 90 with that. Anyway, if you experiment with alternate versions let us know what worked the best for you!

Just starting this build, feels super good! I'm using Soulrend atm but want to try out Ice Spear How do you sustain mana for ice pear if you have to anoint Pierce instead of mana leech?

reduced mana cost, - manacost for non-channeling skills, clarity, increased manaregen, stampede, etc. I think I don't have any other leech with Ie Spear but it's enough for puking out 10 spells / sec without running out of mana. I also have a huge mana pool to beign with.

Ice Spear of Splitting is really bad for CoC, didn't try it out. SInce the projectiles are splitting, they cannot shotgun (...or they should not be able to). You loose everything what's cool about Ice Spear ang you just get a nice leveling gem, or a good gem for clearing maps. But with Nimis, or with Soulrend and some kind of return projs the clear is better. So no, didn't try it, and will not try it with this character.

I had a CI CoC Cyclone Occultist Forbidden Rite build 2 leagues ago with an Aegis Aurora. I liked that build but didn't want to spend too much on it, and I could never finish a Simulacrum 30 (even when I tried out a Mageblood on it). With this build on a much lower budget it was possible, and a big pro for this Energy Blade variant is that I can easily just switch between Ice Spear for bossing and hard single target DPS and Soulrend for better map clear and Simulacrum. Between the 2 I liked this Energy Blade CoC build more, but both very good and capable, it's more like how much do you want to sepnd on the build and which one do you enjoy more to play. So in conclusion, I don't think that any of these 2 is "better", but I like this one more, and I was able to push it farther on a much lower budget. ( Also, Cat Mtx exists for Soulrend :D )

Welll... if you can get all the necessary uniques it might work. DPS, survivability would be significantly lower. You also wouldn't have the nice manaleech from your hits so you would need a lot of manaregen. It would work to some degree I think, but in your place I'd just get some currency first with whatever build you are rolling with right now.

Power and Frenzy charges is coming from primalist. With this setup 2 charms is kind of needed for it to work. One to get Power charges and another one that has the +0.X chance BASE critical strike chance. The Endurance charges are comiong from a jewel but I mentioned multiple options how can you get them, like a small cluster jewel if you modify your tree.

There is a cap of how many triggers can you make each second. You want to cap that with 100% hit chance, 100% crit chance, and the attack speed. Without any CDR this is 6.06 attacks per second. I can upload one if you want to see it, but I improved the build since then. With my current damage Simulacrum just melts away. Do you use frostblink? That's an instant spell that can just get you out of trouble no matter how slowed you are. You can also just hold it down like cyclone and zip around in a sea of monsters.

you're right. This build is really thickkk in terms of defensive layers but not against chaos dmg. You can push it to 0% but cant really do higher there is the glimpse of chaos helmet for 0 chaos res or the best you could do is to buy an amethyst ring with fractured chaos resist, roll it with str essence and add chaos quality. with that you could push it into a more comfortable level

Since then I upgraded that Amethyst ring and now without any +Quality mod I have 4% chaos resist which is at least above 0. With the Quality mod this would be at 15% Chaos Res.

The issue with Headhunter and CoC is that it randomly can give you action speed and attack speed thus completely break your coc attack speed / CDR breakpoints. I don't like to use HH with CoC builds. Of course your milage may wary, but it just fluctuates too much. A much cheaper belt is sufficient, I also don't use a Mageblood for this character.

I wouldn't recommend to actually leaguestart with a CoC character (although I did it once with an Assassin) In general you would not have a great time. You can just start an Energy Blade selfcast build and then later transition into CoC. But since getting a character from lvl1 to lvl90 just takes 10 hours, I'd recommend to roll one of the true and tested leaguestarters. (I started a Toxic Rain ballista Pathfinder)

I was typing literally 4 parapgraphs as my answer then youtube just crashed randomly. That's a nice learning curve for me... I'll type out all my answers in a text editor / notepad first..... anyway :D The shorter version: Most probably you have issues with the Attack Speed and CDR Breakpoints. I think for your current CDR Breakpoint you simple have TOO MUCH attack speed. That can just cut your effective trigger rate and DPS in half. Check out the wiki: www.poewiki.net/wiki/Cast_On_Critical_Strike_Support#Effective_cooldown_&_cooldown_thresholds There is this table with the breakpoints numbers. In Generral you want to aim to have 52% CDR and be under 10.1 Attacks / Sec. (But if you didn't hit that Breakpoint yet, thenthe Attack speed shoul be lower) Without your POB I can only guess of what's the exact issue. You can check your effective trigger rate in POB, it also shows you your current Trigger Cap. Top left, there is the "Calcs" tab. Click on that, set your CoC skillset, select Ice Spear (first form all; proejs forexample), and there is a whole section down belowe about the trigger rate cap and your effetive trigger rate. Check those out, if you can't see waht's wrong you can also jsut share us your POB. The characters afetr the pobin/ would be enough, I don't think that youtube let's you link anything as a comment.

ahoy, sorry for the late reply, I simply didn't have time to play POE since my last upload. You can absolutely make this build without the Nimis. With Ice Spear the damage is still really good without it, and if you want to have huge clear with Soulrend you can just use the return proj.

I think I was using Freezing Pulse, and also tried out the new Ice Spear of splitting. Doesn't reaally matter, with the lvling items I mentioned you'll have an easy time, and can kill Kitava under 4 hours, and start mapping.

Hi! Yes, but we lose some power from the secondary ascendancy. You just have to scale back a bit. The build is very much doable and how I would approach it: Get one tier back in triggering the spells in both attack speed and cdr, I mean one breakpoint less. Then there won't be pressure for cooldown recovery and also you won't need frenzy charges. So you will have more freedom with the belt. Getting back the mana could also be more problematic without the instant leech, but!!!! you can just use lvl 1 spell gems. All the damage is coming from the energy blade, the level of the gems are irrelevant. All together the build will loose some power, but it would be still roughly the same. And you can also check out the new stuff. The retaliation skill with that much damage effectiveness looks like a huge button to press. (with this much block you can spam it if you want to).

I'm not sure. I started to use CoC on... like... lvl 68-70 :D And I had a rough time. Honestly you'd be better off just by being a self-cast build until maybe lvl 80 / 80+ It all depends on the CoC numbers. If you can manage to have an almost 100% hit chance, a close to 100% crit chance with cyclone and to be above 5 and below the first breakpoint (6.06) with your attack speed then it would feel great.

I don't know, don't think so. Depends on what you want to do. Previous league I had an assassin that was over 85 mil DPS, but was paper thin. This version is well rounded. You can use it for almost anything. And since it is tanky, you will also rarely die, so pushing it to higher levels is not so frustrating. I got a few upgrades and now I'm almost at 50 mil DPS.

Not all reservation gems reserves some % of your mana or life. Some of them have flat mana / life requirements. The very same gems would only work if you have the exact same amount hp. Other than that, check if you have the life reservation mastery first. If you link your POB we could check what's the issue.

Ahoy, no I dont have any leveling passive tree, but with the leveling items I mentioned and with any spell you like to play you should be able to kill Kitava in the 4th hour. I used Freezing pulse most of the time. The passive tree is also kinda similar, you won't need to redo everything. THere are a lot of good passives for a generic spellcaster.

you get crit from str/int (wichever is lower), implicit on gloves, charms and the it was taken jewel can give you the base crit if you are at max power charge + the power charges. try to look for these. If the crit chance is your biggest issue u can just use multiple charms with the base crit inc stat also make sure that u have 100% hit chance, because to be able to hit the enemy with a crit, the game rolls twice. Once for a siccesful hit, and after a successfull crit roll again to check if you can hit the enemy with the crit attack

not sure if I mentioned in the video, but freezing pulse and also tried out the new splitting ice spear. With good leveling gear any spell will work that you like to use.

yes, I talked about that a bit in the build guide update video as an option. It opens up some flexibility for you, but overall it's not THAT better.

it shouldn't be skill issue, since most of the time you just ahve to hold down the cyclone button, and occasianlly jump away form some danger with Frostblink. you can just show us your POB link and we can try to pinpoint out something. Also, I had troubly kicking this build off when I was on low level (75-85). What helped me was a Watcher's eye that only gave me the ES gain on hit. That works with spells and attacks. And since this build hits a LOT eachs econd, the recovery from taht alone was huge.

Hi! Yes, but we lose some power from the secondary ascendancy. You just have to scale back a bit. The build is very much doable and how I would approach it: Get one tier back in triggering the spells in both attack speed and cdr, I mean one breakpoint less. Then there won't be pressure for cooldown recovery and also you won't need frenzy charges. So you will have more freedom with the belt. Getting back the mana could also be more problematic without the instant leech, but!!!! you can just use lvl 1 spell gems. All the damage is coming from the energy blade, the level of the gems are irrelevant. All together the build will loose some power, but it would be still roughly the same. And you can also check out the new stuff. The retaliation skill with that much damage effectiveness looks like a huge button to press. (with this much block you can spam it if you want to).

nimis and the unique flasks are not needed for this build to function unless prices changed drastically since then, this should be around 10-20 divs. I checked the prices when I made the build guide video
