ENFERMEDADES LABORALES EMERGENTES RELACIONADAS CON EL CAMBIO CLIMÁTICO Y LA TRANSICIÓN VERDE

Existen evidencias que señalan una variación global del clima de la Tierra consistente en la alteración de parámetros climáticos como temperatura, precipitaciones, nubosidad, etc., a diversas escalas de tiempo.
Las evidencias científicas predicen que la alteración climática global provocará serios impactos tanto sobre los sistemas naturales como sobre los sistemas socioeconómicos por lo que la variación global del clima no debe considerarse un fenómeno solo ambiental puesto que impacta también sobre la economía y fuerza la adopción de estrategias políticas de adaptación frente a estos efectos. Es por ello que el cambio climático y el marco político para alcanzar una transición ecológica van a definir una reconversión de la fuerza laboral con impacto en materia de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo (SST), lo que exige una anticipación frente a la aparición de nuevos riesgos laborales o el agravamiento de determinados riesgos ya existentes.
En España, el marco político queda definido por el Plan Nacional de Adaptación al Cambio Climático y por el Plan Estratégico de Salud y Medioambiente que requieren la valoración del impacto potencial del cambio climático sobre la salud de la población trabajadora y la adopción de las medidas de prevención correspondientes.
Esta Jornada Técnica que realiza el Instituto Nacional de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo (INSST), O.A., M.P. en colaboración con la Agencia Europea para la Seguridad y la Salud en el Trabajo (EU-OSHA) y la Red Española de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo (RESST) tiene como objetivo analizar cómo puede afectar este nuevo escenario en la incidencia de enfermedades y daños a la salud relacionados con el trabajo, especialmente en determinados sectores de actividad y colectivos de personas trabajadoras, para promover su identificación y respuesta preventiva.
