Minnetonka Fire Department’s newest #Enforcer #Pumper will be the workhorse of their fleet, so they chose to black-out and ruggedize surfaces and features of the apparatus. The front bumper will include a short section of supply line and a trash line for car fires. Handles on the front of the apparatus were added for additional safety when cleaning the windshield and mirrors. The crew cab was designed to hold more equipment such as battery powered tools. This includes a horizontal versus vertical compartment to open blind spot visibility for the driver. The crosslays were designed with exact measurements of their existing equipment to allow for the fastest deployment of water as possible. Flow meters are attached to every discharge on the pump panel for better verification of target flows. The hosebed was lowered to allow quick hose deployment from the ground level. The engine’s scene lighting package includes high powered LED lightbars on each side eliminating the need for a generator. Seventy percent of calls in #MinnetonkaMN are EMS so on both sides of the engine cab specific compartments are dedicated for EMS bags and equipment. Cul-de-sacs are common in their response area, so the short wheelbase and cut angles off the rear bumper allows them to easily make 180’s and full turnarounds without having to stop and go in reverse. The rear ladder storage compartment was placed in a position so firefighters can easily and quickly deploy a two-fly ladder directly onto their shoulder.
