I have never watched a group nomination with such earnest and eager attention. Thank you so much for the translations! I read every word. I mean.. yeah, you can become a pro gamer using cheaper or lesser equipment. The #1 thing that matters is skill. Having a mouse that clicks 0.01ms faster won't have a huge impact on gameplay. That being said, there are definitely advantages to more expensive peripherals. Quality, accuracy, speed (to a small extent), durability/longevity. Subjective things as well, like feel.

I died when SnOw talked about his mousepad. Absolutely died. Yes SnOw, I'd love one. Lmao. Also it was a bit silly of the interviewer to say that Zerg is more likely to be chosen because there's more Zerg. The extra Zerg is a seeded player, and there's 4 players to choose from each race. She seemed to have looked at the numbers and assumed. Guess despite doing this cast for years she still lacks a thorough understanding of what's going on. Thank you for another translated group nomination. It really brings the players to life, and we have the opportunity to see them for more than just what they do on the battlefield. Kudos guys!

It's funny to ever so often hear a word that is very similar to Japanese: When they were talking about their bags they said something like "kaban" which is the same as in Japanese. They said the players tense for today's nominations, and I thought I heard something like "kinjou" which is very close to "kinchou" which is "nervous/tense". Someone said someone was "too strong" and said something like "sugite" which is "too" in Japanese. SnOw said he was feeling happy and used something like "kibun" which is "feelings" in Japanese. nOOb described Light as a "monster" with something sounding like "kemol" which isn't too far off from Japanese "kemono" for "beast/monster".
@mellofifee3 жыл бұрын
Yes! Most of the words you picked up on are cognates or loanwords. 1. Korean gabang/kabang/가방 is a loanword from Japanese kaban/かばん/鞄. 2. Korean ginjang/kincang/긴장 is cognate with Japanese kinchou/きんちょう/緊張; both are loanwords from Chinese. 3. If this was when they said segi ddæmune/seki ttaymwuney/세기 때문에, which means "because [he's] strong", then it's just a coincidence that "segi ddæ.../seki ttay..." sounds like sugite/すぎて/過ぎて. 4. Korean gibun/kipwun/기분 is cognate with Japanese kibun/きぶん/気分; both are loanwords from Chinese. 5. Korean gwoemul/kwoymwul/괴물 is unrelated to Japanese kemono/けもの/獣; the true cognate here is kaibutsu/かいぶつ/怪物; both it and the Korean are loanwords from Chinese.
@mellofifee3 жыл бұрын
Re 3. Or perhaps it was at 18:00 when Barracks says setgeodeunyo/sessketun'yo/셌거든요 "because [they] were strong".
@HasekuraIsuna3 жыл бұрын
I knew that behind many Korean words are Chinese just as in Japanese, but thanks for confirming my suspicions in 1, 2 and 4: D There are so many times while I watch ASL interviews when I just look away from the screen only to realise I don't understand it. Korean really sounds a lot like Japanese, that I don't understand haha For 3 I don't think it was Barracks 18:00, probably what you first said. For 5, with how 怪 also can be ケ and 物 also モツ it kinda makes sense it could become kwoymwul
