I really hope you got one… I’m 3 years into my ownership and still love every second of it. With EK9 prices now what they are, it’s still the cheapest and best way to get into a Civic Type R.

@@chrisu-_- yeah such a good engine and chassis. I ended up getting a Subaru Legacy because we have snow for half a year. Its not the best with 200hp and FWD in snow :D

@@Makedeth haha kind of the opposite story for me, previous car was a tuned wrx wagon :D was fun but way too unreliable. haven't had massive problems with ice and snow yet but i run pretty good studded tires so that probably helps

I think Gansan driving the EP3 could have beaten Tsuchiyas time in the EP3. That would have been a real comparison. Both drivers in both cars.

Well, there was a video that already was deleted. Tsuchiya was faster than Gan-san in a same car. Tsuchiya does time attack in most videos while Gan-san mainly reviews cars.

that's what I thought until I drove one, I knocked the DC5 as it was just an overpriced EP3, more than double the price in UK plus extra insurance costs being an import. The DC5 experience is far better than the EP3, drive both and see what you think

I don’t know if it’s modified or because it’s an jdm version ep3 but it revved all the way through to 9000 rpm??? My ep3 stops at 8500 at best??

My standard JDM EP3 revs to 9000 rpm, my K Pro;d DC5 revved out to 8600 and hit the limiter, think the JDM versions have different internals to the UK versions

Thats called " heel and toe" its a driving technique used to keep the engine in the right rpm range when downshifting and decreasing speed ( braking ) at the same time. It helps with reducing the drivetrain shock when downshifting and with engine response when exiting the corner since the rpm will be in the right range for the gear you've downshifted to

lilazna55a5inz sure, im learning how to do it so i practice everyday. Its a bit difficult because it requires precision and control over the brake pedal since u are pressing it accordingly to how much u need to slow down while blipping the throttle at the same time. I sometimes press the brake too hard when i blip the throttle but im getting there

Score one for the dc5, do you have videos with the new 05-06 dc5, where they corrected the bump steer that it was a parent in 02 to 04 models, lol I can literally see the bump steer that they were talking about. P.s. I have the 05 dc5 model I wanna set it up for autocross and touge but would like to follow the dc5 history and learn somethings before I start throwing mods at it. Thanks again bro

Honda was in a good mood when they made the dc5R. It’s an all around good car but though the ep3 performs and handles well it’s just goofy looking... definitely a minivan hatchback type with that dash shifter.
