About thirty five years ago I visited London and some other places. I ate steak, pudding, yogurt, and some other food. On the whole not good. Especially, I was amazed at Kentucky Fried Chicken, served with fine down. To be exact, not so much amazed as frightened. And 20 years later or so, my daughter had a short stay at a British family in London. After coming back, she said it was not so bad. It depends on what, where, when you have in Britain. I would say "There are all kinds of food, good and bad."
