Mohamad Hussein, P.E., Executive Director for Global Industry Relations, Principal Engineer, Partner, and Chairman of the Board of Directors at GRL Engineers, Inc., a consulting civil engineering firm with offices throughout the United States, and Executive Director for Global Industry Relations and Partner in Pile Dynamics, Inc., an equipment manufacturing and software development company with representatives worldwide, both specializing in testing and evaluations of deep foundations.
Over the past 40+ years, he has been involved in deep foundations projects in 35 States in the U.S.A. and 20 countries overseas including buildings, bridges, offshore platforms, etc.; many are award-winning projects. He has co-authored over 60 technical papers and originated/co-edited 10 American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) major books on geotechnical engineering and deep foundations and conducted state-of-the-art research on deep foundations in association with Departments of Transportation (DOTs) and Universities. He frequently organizes educational courses and seminars on deep foundations, including the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Continuing Education Course: Deep Foundations Design, Construction, and Quality Control. He also trains engineers, contractors, and the State DOTs on foundation testing and analysis, frequently co-edits conference proceedings and books and has more than 80 articles, book chapters, and presentations on the subject.
Mr. Hussein is Chairman of the Technical Committee of the Pile Driving Contractors Association (PDCA), past Chairman of the PDCA's Education Committee and was Chairman of the Deep Foundations Committee of the Geo-Institute of ASCE, served as a member of the Pile Foundations Standards Committee of ASCE’s Geotechnical & Construction Standards Council and on the Editorial Board of ASCE’s Journal of Geotechnical and Geo-environmental Engineering. He serves on deep foundations related committees of ASCE, ASTM, PDCA, DFI, and TRB’s Committee on Construction of Bridges and Structures. Mr. Hussein holds national and international Expert level certificates in dynamic testing of deep foundations and is the recipient of several industry recognitions and awards, including the 2010 Florida Geotechnical and Materials Engineering Council Award, the 2011 PDCA Professional Engineer Award, and the PDCA 2016 Presidential Distinguished Service Award. He conceived and Chaired the first International Foundations Congress and Equipment Expo (IFCEE) that is now an industry-wide ongoing landmark series.

Thanks Anthony for connecting us with people who have this kind of love for Lebanon to the extent they want to preserve its history & culture and share it with others. Keep on going with your mission till you’ve found all the Lebanese heroes like this because we’re stronger together in our combined love for Lebanon. It was important how you touched on how it’s vital for people to have a hobby in their life, like collecting currencies of the world - one of a million different hobbies out there. We have a tendency to discount something, or criticise, say a young person starting out collecting items that resonate with them, when we lack knowledge on the significance of those items. I don’t know if it’s perhaps a cultural thing. This video is proof that there are many things in our world with value & worth collecting & preserving - hours were spent making them, they were popular & stopped being made, so people naturally have a desire to collect them.
