I love all the skin tone varieties she's doing. They're just stunning. She's more than a bb, she's an artist. Instead of questioning why ppl would whitening or darkening themselves, we should just appreciate contents that artists make for different audiences. I myself love my skintone, but if there's a chance, I'd love to try out this gorgeous look too. Love it!

This girl made us realize that even how dark or light our skins are, we are still beautiful in our own wayโค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ This girl can change the world not 100% but atleast the half of it. So please don't hate her
You guys are so cruel.... You guys are saying "Why you make your skin tone more white?" Then why you tan your skin tone? It is beautiful even you don't make it tan~^^ It is just difference of the culture In korea people usually think bright skin tone is more beautiful (not all of people) You should understand the difference. i totally agree with you...Korea does have standards, but no matter what skin tone she embraces there will always be people who hate, u know? But i think that no matter if she uses a ligher or darker shade, what she enjoys wearing matters. She looks beautiful no matter what.
You are soooo beautiful! I'm not kidding, i think you changed my mind about getting or being tan. Tbh, i am always worried of myself whenever i go out and stay under the sun for so long because i don't want to get a tan. My skin is naturally light brown but not as light as East Asians. I grew up in the Philippines where skin whitening is normal and having a darker skin tone doesn't make you pretty unless you're mixed race or whatever. Like seriously, i am even contemplating whether i should go to the beach with my friends because i'm scared i might get a tan. BUT! Seeing another Asian who rocked a tan look made me feel horrible of my perception of dark skin. I have nothing against people who have naturally dark skin, but when it comes to my skin, i feel less beautiful and accepted in the society where i grew up, so it's always been a negative thing to me. Thank you for opening my eyes and making me think back of what really is the most important when it comes to beauty: confidence. I think i'll have fun on the beach soon! โฅ

I guess people are like that. For example, if you have dark skin, you want to have a lighter skin. If you have a straight hair, you want to have curly hair. It's like an endless desire to have something what you don't have. I think it's alright to want something you don't have but i wish people would keep their desires within themselves and not rub it on other people. That's the problem in the society we live right now... :( But i'm still thankful that i found this video! :)

Katel Bar I believe she means that the reason this youtuber is using a darker tone for make up is because sheโs trying to match her tan. She also mentions how many โwhiteโ people tan as well and dont get hate and make a big deal out of it.
Guys thereโs nothing wrong with what sheโs doing, sheโs literally just matching her foundation with her tan skin. If you guys think sheโs doing a black face please go get a life because sheโs literally not. Imagine if youโre face is just tan and then the rest of your body is darker would you just try matching shade with your face leaving you to look so weird or match shades with the rest of your body.

Alessandro Lombardi by using self-tanning. At the start of the video, you can see her face is lighter than her body. That's because she uses the bottled type of self-tanning product on her body but not her face, as recommended. She then uses dark foundation to match her face+neck to her body's tone. Many light skinned western women use this method too, since they want tan skin but without sun damage.

It doesnt matter if she tans or not, its just nice to see someone do what they want with their appearance regardless of the beauty standards of their own country. ๐๐

I find it great that you arenโt afraid of being darker considering the stigma in your country against poc!! Super gorgeous and loved the tutorial!
this is one of the first korean makeup videos Ive seen where they use a foundation darker than their natural skin tone many use tones that whiten their complexion ๐๐ผ
its 2020, south korea is a democratic society and we respect each individuals' rights and freedom. Jella mentioned that she was teased and bullied because of her dark skin tone when she was young. She first got into tanning because her boyfriend (now husband) recommended it. (Her boyfriend used to play baseball, and because he would have uneven tan lines he started getting tanning done as well, and that's why he recommended it to her when she mentioned that her dark-but-not-too-dark-ish skin tone was her complex) After tanning she started recieving compliments. She had hated her dark skin tone as a child but learned to love it after tanning it more. She has left several youtube comments regarding her skin tone, why it is darker than most koreans and why she prefers her dark skin. I've been seeing many comments lately that she is a racist, and the videos she is uploading are insensitive and rude. However you guys need to understand that she has her own story behind it. If you don't like her content, and you don't like her dark skin, just skip her video. If you don't have anything nice to say don't say it at all. Everyone has their own story and it is not in your place to judge them about it. She is currently pregnant and under a lot of stress, but even under these conditions she filmed a video and uploaded it because it is her passion and she wants to better for her fans. Please be more understanding and stop the hate comments. And before anyone says that she is wearing her skintone as fashion, no she is not. She is not saying that tan or dark skin is more superior, nor is she committing "blackface". She has always had naturally dark skin, especially compared to the general korean society where pale skin is seen as more desireable. She's not trying to be "black" by recieving artificial tanning, she has come to terms with her dark skin tone and come to love it because of that. She didn't try to be a different race through the tanning. There are plenty of celebrities that are known to get tans and they do it for purely cosmetic reasons. Jella should not be thrown under the bus for this. In fact isn't it even reverse racism, for you calling her out for "trying to be black" just because of her dark skin? Isn't that because you have the preexisting stereotype that Korean people are pale?
