I can't imagine Evil Kyu being polite and calling his Ryeowook hyung. xD

I already heard (rather read) Kyuhyun saying Kibum-hyung... In one of the interview in a magazine, he's said something like he now knew how Hangeng hyung & Kibum hyung felt when they are away from their families (those are the first times that SJ-M stayed long in China).

Ryeonggu once said in his first birthday after Kyuhyun joined Suju that he wished he always became the magnae. And now he's upset that KyuKyu didn't call him "hyung" 😂😂😂😂

I feel like Sungmin was able to identify with Kyuhyun so much b/c he (that is Sungmin) was literally born on January 1st XD

Yeah.. Sungmin & Shindong are chingu. But I've heard Sungmin call Shindong with hyung. Kangin always call Yesung with hyung too. That's what I know. But I don't think in their real life Sungmin & Kangin call Shindong & Yesung with hyung, though ^^

The new year I was referring to is the one for counting ages. It seems like Korea has different counting system along with different 'new years'

@oneminutekyu @shirley1224 No, it's not korean year start in march.. but March is period for starting school.. many korean parents will get their children who were born b4 march (jan & feb) enter to school one year early than other chirldren who were born in same year but after march.. in this case, kyuhyun (who were born in feb) entered school with 87'er children.. chingu or not is mainly based on their school entering period.. so kyuhyun's chinggu r 87'er..

it was kinda confusing when it comes to korean age. they add a year at the start of the year. and doesn't when it's their birthday. what?😅

Korean schools start around march so everyone born between the march of the previous year and march of current year are in the same grad. So it makes sense. But in Australia school starts last day of January and ends in right before Christmas but the cutoff is July now that is confusing. ( I think they follow the financial year which really doesn't make sense at all)

For the Chinese new year, it starts usually late Jan or early Feb because they actually do the 365 days or something like that........but yeah that is weird that the start is in March maybe bc its the start of spring so its like a whole season cycle? idk...

It rly does not make sense in Aus...I was born in the start of Aug and I was always wondering whether I was in the right year...

Well in my country the all the kids that were born in the same year are in the same grade so there is no confusion.Fore example all 87's in grade 10, 88's in grade 9 and so on. Even if they are ''friends'' because they were born early in the year they are still hyung and dongsaeng, that's why they use honorifics etc

I don't get how the whole school starting in March thing confuses people so much. Here in Scotland, the school year starts in either June for secondary school or August for Primary, but the cut-off for each year group is March, just like in Korea.

@oneminutekyu In fact, Korea's new year is not start around March. Their new year is the same as the Chinese Lunar New Year because Korean uses Chinese schedule(農曆). But I don't know why they count people borned before March as the same age.

Them being all Korean and Henry speaking Korean, i'm assuming he does follow that etiquette because they may be offended if he doesn't - unless they've told him that its okay to speak less formally

Sungmin's birthday surprised me the most when I was a newbie ELF ^^ mmmm it's kinda weird that Korea's new year start around March so we don't hear Kyuhyun calling 'Ryeowook hyung' or 'Kibum hyung'. Omooo I miss Kibum so much that if he comes back, I'm shipping Kyubum (Or Kyu's bum) lololol~

I don't know if you want me to answer this for you, but it really depends on the person as well. Like I have a friend who is about three years younger than me who does not call me unnie, yet I have a friend in the same year who does. If the person feels the honorific is important then they will use it, it's the same as with K-Pop idols. Also, if the person actually went into that grade, Kangin could have been entered into the year after Yesung.

Before I read the comment, I thought that Korean yr starts at march and end at feb. now, I know it's wrong.
@pikakappochan12 жыл бұрын
Ooo.. I heard once Kangin called him hyung. Maybe just sometimes.. I understand now. Because they way they use honorific in Suju is different in SS501. So it made me confuse before. The manager hyung in ss501 order the kids to call the members who born in 1986 as hyung. Even there is one member, who born in Feb 87, should call them hyung. But I think in school they will be on the same year. I don't know what letter? Intimate note? I want to see them cursing too. kekeke
@uqutie12 жыл бұрын
oh i c so when they say that new year, its not like a new new year like chinese new yr and for usa new yrs on jan 1 but school that makes more sense because that was what i was thinking of was the new yr yr and not the school new yr. thanks for explaining
@pikakappochan12 жыл бұрын
So most of all it's very necessery to call with honorific in Korea..? It's the same in my country but we don't call hyung/unnie like that if we're on the same grade at school. And nowdays many ppl like to call just by the name. I also call many sunbaes with their names. I'm evil like kyu :). my friends younger than me thought that I'm on same age with them so they also call me by name. Lately I told them I'm older but they still call my name. bcos they used to it. I dont mind either. :DD

I wonder if Henry refers to them as hyungs considering that he's not Korean. I would feel weird having to switch to that whole formality after speaking so carefree to my friends.
