He’s go into sm for his vocals Trained as a rapper Debuted as a main dancer and rapper. He’s the sub vocalist of all units along with being the leader of dream, and the center / fotg. Mark is absolutely fully capable. And sm knows that that’s why he gives him so much and pushes him a lot , he knows mark can do it.

I respect and admire him. I've been a fan of SM artists for over 10 years now. LSM cares a lot about his artists. That's why all the artists say that they follow LSM like father so many times. They genuinely mean it. And SM is famous for spoiling their artists in Korean entertainment industry so reporters actually blame SM for protecting their artists too much, like have too much pride in their own artists (so difficult to approach them or have interviews with them, and even when having interviews, there are so many rules to follow as a reporter). SM artists get paid the most and their contract is better compared to other companies' artists. Korean stock market experts officially discouraged people to buy SM stock as SM's profit is decreasing as they pay too much to their artists compared to other companies. Some people bring up TVXQ case but if you see their contract with SM regarding Japan concerts, activities & CM/promotions, you will see that SM gets 30%-50% and TVXQ (mostly active in Japan) gets 50%-70%. SM staff also paid the most among the big entertainment companies according to the average salary statistics. These are facts, taken from the official statistics. So I hope people do not misunderstand him.

You can easily see that the longest surviving groups and artists in the K-pop industry are SM groups and artists - including BoA, Super Junior, Shinee, Girl's Generation, TVXQ, etc. Other entertainment companies do not keep the groups they created long. An artist who used to be a member of the rival of SM's H.O.T. in late 1990s recently said in a TV show that he envied SM artists for being treated far better in every aspect than his group at that time (and SM 20 years ago was known to many people to be mean to their artists, unlike now). I think the difference starts from the training period - SM does not charge expenses spent for lessons, training, accommodation, food, etc. during the trainee period but still many other companies take this expense from the profits artists make so many artists cannot earn anything until they repay all the expenses that incurred during the trainee time. And the contract becomes more favourable to artists as the years go by (I believe this is the same for some other big companies) so the amount some long-standing groups get is enormous (so when EXO received all the trophies, still TVXQ members earned far more than EXO members because their contract was far better, partly because their activities in Japan led to a lot of profits but also their contract was more favourable to as they renewed their contract). Due to all these reasons, SM still remains the most desired companies among the trainees and many artists who belong to other companies often make a joke about moving to SM in TV shows. Of course I don't like certain things about SM but as for their treatment of their artists and employees, I don't think there is much to blame.

Honestly speak I am SM stan since 2007. And LSM really create amazing company during his time as CEO of SM. But after some changes even tho he still have the main opinion many executived under him are kinda have different approach when it comes to business. But LSM is really down to earth person. And that's what he wants to all his artist. Be polite, humble and grateful. Reason why all the SM artist are so polite and down to earth because their teacher himself is like that.

Three of TVXQ members doesnt get an enough rest when there are promotion. Also there are some circumstance that happened like the contract problem (I think?). But the one who need to be blame is the management and not Lee Soo Man. Beside, that time the one who become a CEO is another person so yeah. We know that most of SM Ceo only care about money. The members already make a decision to make a lawsuit so its kinda sad not just for the fans but also Lee Soo Man...
