You shouldn’t wear what makes you uncomfortable, but I doubt anyone is going to look at your calves. If they do and make a mean comment about it you have to ignore it

I think that high socks look good on everybody! They are very versatile and I think that a lot of her points seemed very culturally influenced. In east Asia the diet is quite different from the west and people tend to be much thinner, this isn’t true for everyone but it is a generalization that tends to hold true. Resulting from this the pressure to be seen as super thin is a lot stronger, however in the west we tend to have a higher BMI and our view of weight has become increasingly more lax. People should feel free to wear what they want! High socks look great on so many body types and having thicker calves is totally fine, I have thicker calves and thighs and people think that’s they look cute with high socks. I say wear what you want! 💛

maybe try thicker socks? i have a pair that are really thin, especially at the top and they bite into my calves more :( also i feel like if they go up to just below your knee, there's more bone sticking out and your legs slim near your knees

Next: What about wearing different shoes for different leg shapes and sizes? Personally because I have thick legs I don’t really know if I can wear more intricate shoes like dress shoes etc, so I’m always stuck with the same sneakers all the time.
