The drama is getting more intense and interesting, but my favorite part has to be the scene where Lan Jue says it's worth risking his life to protect Zhang Ping. He's basically saying that a world without Zhang Ping isn't a world he'd live in. It also informs you of the kind of relationship Lan Jue has with Mo Wen, which is tried, tested, and firmly established yet when given the chance, he'd rather leave Mo Wen behind than let Zhang Ping die for a crime he never committed. His ideals are beginning to align with Zhang Ping's and their connection is growing with it. It's exciting to watch their relationship finally come into its own.

I don't think is a good thing.... Zhang ping has been nothing but recklessness and probably will give us trouble till the end. ,.... If he would forsake mowen who has been there through thick and thin for him and prefer Zhang ping, I'll be annoyed to death

​@shiqow b yeah but the thing is no one is forcing lan just to get involved he decided to do on hi on volition. it's not like zhang ping is holding a sword up his neck demand hi. to follow his ever escape. lan jue already know what kind of dangers that could happen he chooses to do it anyway just like zhnag ping knows what kind of danger he be getting into but je still chooses to do it so of he decided he wants to be reckless that's their porogitive. I mean people can tell them not to do it but they sill still do it anyway since they are headed, before all this happened look what lan jue was doing to get answers about his father it wasn't exactly doing embroider so he probably face much dangers before meeting zhang ping, so it's most likely going to happened after him to

The show is interesting. I saw AvenueX had reviewed this negatively, which is sad. Sometimes, when an influential youtuber says something, it sways the opinion of others. This show deserves to be watched.

I used to watch her religiously and defend her but I dropped her like a hot potato. She is biased and judges shows based on things that are forcefully contrived at times, especially to paint the image of a media critic. AveX misleads and disrespects her into viewers by talking to them differently than how she speaks on Chinese social media sites. She tried so hard to build and image as reputable and someone that knows the industry when in reality she gets a lot of her opinions from Weibo CP and black market fans. (I have proof like links/scc to prove this) Being a part of her private discord was a huge eye-opener for me. I'm so glad I've been learning Mandarin.

@@isabelfortuneteller This show was cinematically strong and quite solid from episode 5, and this is from someone that usually does not like watching Song Weilong. The plot is solid and the pace is steady. You'll see just how crazy it gets soon, but they still manage to keep the drama engaging.

@@Juliana-tk5yf Totally agreed. I wish people give the series a chance. They kept the mysterious feeling, almost gloomy vibe in the beginning. It was a bit of confused storyline for the first few episodes, but it was more because of the editing. By the fifth episode, things started to come together and made more sense. All the characters relationships blend in perfectly. Even, how the emperor got to know Zhang Ping. It is quite captivating and interesting as a detective series. They built the relationship of two/three characters, just like in Sherlock Homes movie.
