As a person who has lived almost her entire life without friends, I understand Kawi's worries and insecurities, but I also understand Pisaeng's train of thought. It's true that Kawi is judging what people think of him based on what he feels and not what people actually think of him. He isolates himself from the world because he believes that the world is going to judge him. But by doing so, he prevents people from generating their own judgment or opinion about him because they don't know him and he doesn't give anyone the opportunity to do so. He judges the opinion of others before people create that opinion out of fear of rejection, and I understand that feeling more than I'd like.
