I just wished she has the same hairstyle or even just the straight bangs they had for her in the series. That curly bangs was horrible.

Just watched the movie.okay personally Go Eun really captured the seol personality and chemistry with Jung! And I love sungkyung's inha she brings her real craziness!! But the story in the movie is really faithful to the original webtoon so i appreciate the movie. I love how it ended because its not really finished yet that time!(i dunno if its finished in webtoon i took a break from reading) anyways kudos\

@@Anonymous-iv1ne the movie ended up seol was rushed at the infirmary because of high fever (the one when jung and seol was left to fix the bar and seol took care of jung when he was sick) and seol eneded up getting sick. I haven't watched the drama yet but i did watch this movie. I think she did fine. I think it's just a matter of which "version" you watched first
@saveurself41615 жыл бұрын
JeL JaM watched both. But really once you watched the drama. You wiill see who suits the female lead more. Hong Seol as Go Eun all the way.
@vanillasugarkookies58304 жыл бұрын
Disagree. There are just certain roles that really fit people. I think this actress did a good job but I just felt like she lacks the true essence of hong seoul. I mean she's acting like her. But that's just it. You can really feel she's just acting. I liked the actress in the drama better because she made me feel what I felt when I was still reading the webtoon. It's hard to explain.

“I like kim go eun bette-“ IWE GET IT. GO WATCH THAT MESS. i for one hated the drama specifically because of that spoiled perfect untouchable cutesy selfish little princess. Yeah i related to In Ha, that copycat, anyone tired of that little gremlin somehow awkwardly filling the shoes of a levelheaded comic character and hogging all the good luck by simply existing yet saying she worked hard when she was just LUCKY. this girl actually has the personality to show she had worked hard all her life, that vibe. This actress and her portrayal actually feels relatable and a breath of fresh air.

I preferred the movie version over the drama. It really captured the original feeling of the comic, being that it was kinda shot like a horror/psychological thriller instead of a romcom (like the drama). As sweet as the romcom was it wasn’t the point. The conflicts explored in this work were meant to display human nature. As for romance, the main couple had a lot more chemistry as a more awkward, sensitive pair. I do admit that there were moment that Seol was a bit stiff (like the heroine from Twilight?) with her expressions but it never really detracted from my experience. I would have liked for her relationship with Inho and the rest of the cast to have more nuance, but I’m pretty satisfied with her performance with the male lead. As for Jung, holy shit. This is leaps better than the drama serialization. Not only is his silences and pauses taken in the film way better than the drama, which basically sold him as a sexy broken guy, the 2019 movie adaptation took its justices and really made him seem really fucked up-it adds intrigue to his character. The color and cinematography of the film really fed to the paranoia and fear that Seol and the viewers felt with every mystery his character presented, and the bafflement when true affection is shown. [Spoiler Time] The ending of the movie, though subtle, is perfect compared to the shitshow that is the drama. It’s a recreation of a flashback scene from the original webcomic-but it was repurposed so well for this film. It wraps up loose ends and finishes off the arc in a satisfying way that makes you ask for MORE. The way the film is structure is also quite satisfying. The way the arcs/chapters feed into each other, creating a web of conflict to entrap Seol, is gripping to watch. Meanwhile in the drama, what the fuck it’s a romantic comedy with slight misunderstandings and shit happens. The horror aspect of this film is perfect and portrays every moment extremely well. [Spoiler Over] That being said, I have my criticisms. For the flashback scenes they have this horrifying vignette effect. By horrifying I meant like painful to see, my eyes were bleeding. It made it seem like she was being watched, but at the same time it distracted from my experience. Just when you thought you get used to it, though, there’s a scene where she is confronted by the same guy from that flashback (this is the stalker) in a transition from that flashback sequence. It gave me whiplash because the color of the flashback scenes and that scene was consistent, and since there was no differentiating between past and future events other than that shitty vignette effect, I was at a complete loss. The fact that this was separated by arcs in like some kind of title card that said like “Chapter Three: Stalker” also really bothered me. It disrupted the flow of the cinematography and I wish they had decided on something else. Another thing was like: the extremely drab color. The film has this manufactured, dull crushed quality that makes it feel like a horror. Even in the final romantic scene, the scenes of Seol at the hospital, the scenes at home-the film is unwilling to switch it up. I understand it’s to maintain a certain mood, but towards the end I got really tired on the lack of variety to the images. Don’t be afraid to change the mood, even slightly. The changes in color are what evoke a stronger experience. The subtle character moments with Seol and her family are grossly underutilized. I felt like we could have done without them. I appreciate it was show not tell, but like god... what a weird incongruity. The flashbacks with Inho and Jung were really boring and useless too (these flashbacks had a transition into a different color with like these harsh blacks-it was like a war movie) and I wish they had kept it subtle instead of dedicating screen time to them. I praised it earlier because it was filmed like a horror movie, but it was in reference to the bubbly, romcom of a drama, but as a film on its own, I feel strongly that it could have refined itself. In conclusion I would say the film is infinitely better in terms of adapting the webcomic and as a stand-alone work on a technical level. It’s certainly not for everyone, but I urge fans of the original webcomic to give this one a chance. The cast is way better this time around and once you get over the fact that Inho isn’t as hot this time around, you kind of get caught up in his performance. I heartily recommend a viewing of Cheese in the Trap (2019). Tl;dr Film>drama and I nitpick for an entire paragraph

I love your detailed observations and criticism. I’ve watched this 2 years ago but not really paying attention to the essence of the story, it was just to feed my curiosity as i’m a huge fan of the drama and webtoon. Now you makes me wanna watch the movie back haha. Thank you for your comment! Everyone here are just complaining about about the old vs new cast while not focusing on the movie itself :’)
