For the Chinese version I prefer Meteor Garden of 2001 to this one. Although it will never be the rival the original Japanese anime (dated 1995) or it's live action (Hana Yori Dango 2005, Hana Yori Dango 2 2007 & The Final Film 2008.) But I really do have a soft spot for the Korean version (Boys Over Flower dated 2009). In my opinion all of the previous version (except the total flop of the American version) were better than Meteor Garden 2018. I have yet to watch the Thai version.

@@A-maze1306 the version with Barbie as the main actress. I believe it was 2001. Not my favorite version but it had some things other adaptions left out like Tsukushi/dong shancai's friend Kazuya Aoike (he had a different name in the adaption). No other adaptions have him and he was a big part of her life. He even competed in a fishing competition with tsukasa/dao ming zi in the books.😄 I wish the adaptions used him more.
