Ok let me say this again real quick: THE MALE LEAD DID NOTHING, it was the Chairman and he just made the ML think it was him who did that. Also it’s understandable to feel bad for the Female Lead’s ex fiancé since he did end up in jail and had to break up with his girl and didn’t even get her in the end but let’s not forget that him going to jail was the Chairman’s fault not the ML fault, and breaking up with her was his choice. He could’ve handled the situation in many different ways, and of all those ways he is the one that chose the way that would make her feel like dying. Do-Kyung didn’t influence his choice in how to handle the situation or put those horrible words he said to the FL into his mouth. In the end it was his own choices that made it so he wouldn’t end up with her. He could’ve explained the situation and given her the option to choose what she wanted to do from then on, if she wanted to end things with him or would they postpone the wedding and she would wait until his situation was resolved but he made a selfish choice.

Why are you trying so hard to exonerate the ML when he was the cause of all this trouble . He is the cause and what followed was the effect of his actions .Because he tipped the chairman the poor guy lost the contract ended up in prison .In my opinion he was being selfless , instead of putting the girl through humiliation and probably a bigger drama he decided to let her go in the most despicable way I agree but he was desperate. He is the victim here . I withdraw my statement ,the guy is innocent .It was the chairman using him as an excuse .

@Mary.. Well said. His business was one thing, his relationship was another. He chose to say cruel things to convince her he no longer cared. But if he really respected her he would have told her everything. And let her choose. What if they were already married when the Chairman did that? He should have been open and honest. I'm not blaming him, but those were the choices he made and the relationship had nothing to do with the ml. He's not responsible for someone else's choices.

I think you are missing out something important. This is an Asian show for an Asian audience. Their culture is different from western culture. I watch these shows exactly for that reason. To enjoy and learn more about Asian culture. Not so much for the story which is cliche and done for milennia. I welcome the fact that the show is different from US shows. If i want to watch western shows i watch US shows.
