💬Plot summary:
Fan Xian grew up in a small town by the sea with his grandmother, following a sudden visit of a poison master, his peaceful life quickly morph into one filled with danger and hardship. This is a general comment related to the drama, up to the current episode. This drama is a diamond. I did not expect to see the polish and shine in a costume C-drama production. I haven't complained about anything, except the one minute quick flashbacks. The editing and music usually drive me up the wall, when I watch the C-dramas. Finally a film editor who knows his professional job. The music composer is very versatile, and knows how to enhance the scene with the BGM. The director is really staying on top of all department heads, and the output is exceptional. The martial arts scenes are well choreographed; the quality of martial arts films.

Yes, I also think the Emperor gave FX an opt-out clause for his mission. “Get back safely, even if you can’t assassinate the young emperor of Qin and the (scary) prisoner. More new characters introduced in this episode. I particularly love the new bodyguard from FX’s Father. Tall dark and handsome, also as straight as a blade . But a bit dim. Hopefully he’ll wise-up from FX... 😅

Believe it or not, the Thai dubbed version is funnier than the original--there are tons of added side comments/jokes and all the voices match the characters (except for the king's sister, the dubber's voice was "scratchy.") E.g. two scenes that hurt my stomach for laughing so hard was ep1 when he hits his future master in the head and when that dude inspects his low-rent assassins' weapons. In the ENG sub version, those two scenes were only ok funny. ngl, if it wasn't for Sword Snow Stride, I wouldn't have given JOL a chance--glad I did though!

The translator did not get the joke. The name Gao Da is Gundam in mandarin, that's why FX said he has a pony named Zaku. I have never watched Gundam, but it's too famous.

Not translator's fault, as this type of joke is kind hard to explain in "subtitle"(because no space). Gundam is The most famous Japanese Anime Mech, that sometime use a laser sword. And Zaku is another model of these "mobile suit", usually as enemy of the Gundam.

the guards name "Gao Da" is exactly how the popular Japanese anime "Gundam" named in Chinese, thats why Fan Xian was acting weird and joking about his name, and this were not be able to understood by non-chinese speakers due to the translation.
