I didn't see anyone sub this so decided to try. I'm still new to subbing so I beg you to point out any noticeable mistakes, especially translation ones (btw, this is the first time I've tried to make a thumbnail so it's pretty basic). I also accept all sorts of suggestion. Thank you!

Damn that's wild, he actually streamed a video of his sperm. And his presentation is so thorough and professional? I guess that's to be expected from Kanda. Didn't he also stream himself for 24 hours including sleeping? He's seriously something else. I don't know if the advisory at the very beginning of the video was his own or added by you? Either way I really appreciate that kind of thing. Thanks for the notes, translations, and subtitles!

It was added by me. The original description he wrote is: this is just medicine. He is studying a communications related major and did his own research (on the internet I suppose, part of his information is indeed from the webpage of the kit he was using). Medicine is a very complex topic so I thought I should add a disclaimer just in case as I didn't fact check the information. I mean, stuff like "at what temperature human cells die" needs to take into account a lot of factors and he didn't specify or provide any sources. Nevertheless, it is a good video to raise awareness about male reproductive health and infertility. TLDR: added by me, always take with a grain of salt stuff people say on the internet.

Thank you for the translation! This is actually interesting that these kits do exist that males can check if they are healthy or not. What a madlad to show his sperm for informative content.

Yes! I did know about male infertility and its factors but had never heard of these self check kits. It's indeed nice for couples who are beginning their journey and don't really have the need to go to their doctor and want to check just in case

I'm not all that surprised by this. The male reproductive system is often talked about in a light, humorous sense, so it's nice to see a more serious discussion. What I would be surprised about is someone talking about the female reproductive system on stream. It's treated as much more taboo, but it is so much more complex, and I think it should be brought into light as it is really important to understand for everyone. It isn't as bad here in the United States, but from what I can gather it is rarely touched upon in Japanese school systems. It seems like it's been rather difficult to get anything past the Education Board over there to get this knowledge spread. I suppose time will tell.
@pomezi3719

TLDR: I am privileged so that's why I am aware and know stuff and sex education should be taught at school. Nevertheless, we should be careful at generalising things. You made me think, thank you! Thanks for you insightful comment! It really made me reflect on two things: 1) Is my personal experience and my social circle representative enough to generalise? This question popped up because my first reaction after reading your comment is that I feel male reproductive health is less talked about and rather women around me are pretty open with this issue (but that might be because I'm female and the rise of feminism and body rights). They (both male and female) seem to be knowledgeable, or at least know the basics. But then I realised how I forgot that I'm a privileged person with higher education and people around me are pretty much the same. In addition, the fact that even though a lot of information is available on the internet, not everyone takes time to research about this kind of topics. Moreover, just as you've said, the topic has becoming a less of a taboo in the western world, but the audience of Japanese vtubers is largely also Japanese, where it is indeed a more tabooed topic. So yes, I would be very happy if a Japanese vtuber had a stream talking about female reproductive health even though as it's a bit more complex, so a lot of effort is needed. I would be happy if they did any kind of educational content actually. 2) To what degree is the content on the internet dissociated from reality? KZbin and most of the webpages on the internet have algorithms that collect your date and try to suggest you similar things that you might be interested in (e.g. as I am female, I don't often get recommend male reproductive health stuff which is part of the reason why I decided to sub it). Hence, would the fact of not seeing any serious reproductive health videos mean that there's little or none? If a lot of comments say they didn't know about a specific thing, does it mean a lot people in the general population don't know about it either? (In a sense this is similar to question one) I guess this is why sex education at schools is important, you can assure that people actually know or have at least heard about basic things. Diving into why this kind of topic is often considered a taboo would also be very interesting because in essence IT'S JUST BIOLOGY!

@@pomezi3719 Indeed, you make a good point. I attempt to understand that history has formed these different cultures for millennia as much as I can, but sometimes it's difficult to comprehend why a certain culture has some customs and traditions. In this particular situation, I don't have the full understanding of Japan's history and why these natural topics are considered taboo. I try not to judge when I lack the proper knowledge, but when it's something like this I find it tough to not do so. I mean, this is just biology. It should be common knowledge for everyone, as it is entirely natural and important for nearly everyone. I'm not saying the general public should have extensive information on sexual education like a health or biology major would, but a certain base level of knowledge should be taught around the world. But since I'm aware of the fact that there are all these different cultures around the world, I get that it's not something so easily implemented into education. I do think that all first world countries should give sexual education, since they are all capable of doing so. Ironically, it's arguably more important for third world countries to have this knowledge, but they have no resources to do so. And that's disregarding the likelihood that their society is against teaching such things in the first place. Thinking of this, I'm just grateful to have my education and live in the country that I do, because it could be much worse.

@@pomezi3719 As you pointed out, there is definitely a problem with how genderized sexual education is discussed. As a man, I find it more common that other men know more about the male reproductive system, and talk about it more (though, it is typically never the topic of interest for most men). Women will tend to have more knowledge on the female reproductive system, and men will tend to have more knowledge on the male reproductive system (of course, this is just on average). I don't think there should be any discrepancy at all. Everyone should have the same understanding of sexual health of both males and females. It might be more relevant for women to understand their own bodies than it would be for men, and vice versa, but at the same time this lack of comprehension causes a lot of issues. There are some countries that do really well providing this education (i.e. Sweden is definitely better than the United States in this regard). We are only just two cases, but it at least confirms some people we know are more willing to discuss the health of their own gender than they would the opposite, and know more about their gender than they do the opposite. If this gap in education is closed, and the taboo is broken, I think men and women could understand each other much better. Relationships would absolutely benefit between everyone as well. It's easier said than done, unfortunately, but if people are willing to learn, that's a starting point.
@jothamheystee

@@pomezi3719 Sorry, my comments were rather long as well. TL;DR Different cultures formed over centuries are responsible for the disparity of sexual education in different countries, so I try to be understanding when it comes to this kind of thing. The gap in knowledge of health of the opposite gender should be closed, and everyone would benefit from it, but it would be difficult to raise this point to relevance unless people are willing to learn.
@jothamheystee

@@pomezi3719 I forgot to raise the point that women definitely seem to have better sexual health knowledge than men overall. It might even be the case that women know more about men's sexual health than men do, in general. (I apologize for the generalizations; this is just my personal assessment). Many men seem to treat it as something that doesn't matter much, which is really a shame. I just happen to be a bio major so I have a pretty good understanding of how both men's and women's bodies function, but many men don't. I hope that doesn't come off as a higher and mightier than thou kind of thing, as it was not my intention. It's just that I am a little passionate about this topic, and really wish people in general would take interest in sexual health more. I know I can't represent the entire male population, but I can't help but feel sorry that many of us don't know (or aren't willing) to gain proper knowledge. A collective effort needs to be made to encourage all people to get sexual education, but I'm not sure how it would be done. Either way, I'm glad to have had another perspective on this, and look forward to more willing to discuss this. 🙂

Thank you so much for the translation! Kanda was talking medical terms so, it must have been hard. Plus, 20 minutes. His presentation was really interesting, and it's amazing to see how advance technology has really become. I read about how microscopes were first made and how people would use to debate about microbiology, as well as about the current pregnancy kits that can indicate how many weeks old the baby is so, this was really fun to watch. It's also kind of funny how the sperms moved lol.
