Yes Jing would also die to save her. They both love her that much. It is hard to find one person who will love you that much and she has two. Xuan is the one that I am not sure if he would die for her to go off with someone else. I truly believe Jing would also and we know her demon has already given a life for her as well as his heart. She has a different love for each of them. I think Jing is the one that she loves the most in a romantic way although the demon runs a close second. She has always been afraid of letting herself love him like that. I am so moved by the love of both of them.

I personally think Cangx (the cousin) is the best choice for Xiao because it's a healthy relationship, both appreciate each other, help ans support each other with all means, using other ppl to help each other, sacrificing, respecting each other's choices and always staying together, defending each other in battle, both have a powerful background, both are royalty (princess and prince) we were able to see the miracles things they were able to accomplish just by supporting each other. Unlike the toxic relationship with XL or the painful one with Jing. If you want Xiao to be happy and lead a healthy stable life let her be with her brother (cousin). If you want a love tragic/toxic/ and sorrowful life let her be with XL. If you want a love, unsecure, and full of problems life let her be with Jing.

Jing is not useless. He is the most intelligent one of them all. He is maneuvering things in the background. How do u think Cuang is being helped, it's cause of him. He wants to be underestimated. Plus remember there are super natural powers here. How was he going to get her out of the forest when no one else managed to hear her when she was tortured. He's the only one who can always get to her. I think the director is intentional by not showing his full character development. Plus ancient world meant show, enforce and act out respect to the elders in the family.

Understanding is different than rooting for XL. He all ready gave his heart when he accepted the Gu Bug. Even though he always knew she was a woman he still couldn't understand the illusion. XL accepted the male form. Both know where his commitment lies to his adopted Father. Their love only has one conclusion. XL especially loves her unconditionally she already spoke her heart when Nina pushed her off the cliff. Her words were painful it caused the Gu Bug to act leaving no doubt he took it to heart. They can never be, a tragic love.

All three of the relationships are toxic. Jing has kept her as his mistress for decades because he doesn't want to give up his position. He uses empty promises to keep things going. He's like the guy who says he is going to leave his wife but never does. The only reason she stayed this long was because of the 15 year promise he asked her to make. Over 40 years later she is still waiting. She has developed a bad habit. Xuan uses her for the benefit of his kingdom. Xiang liu made mistakes because he didn't know how to love anyone. How can you understand what you haven't ever experienced? He learns how to love because of his feelings for her. He is the only one who shows growth in this relationship. He asks for nothing from her. He just wants to spend time with her because he loves her. He doesn't pressure her like Jing (with empty promises) or ask her to sacrifice herself for personal causes like Xuan (she spends time with some men to appease Xuan, etc.) Xiang liu wants her to love him back just because she loves him, not because he asked her to do it. He has been patiently waiting and letting her get to know him without forcing a romance or making requests or demands. By spending time with her, he is able to see his shortcomings and slowly he learns how to be a better partner. He's a win. All three "love" her. The first two have selfish reasons. Xiang liu's love is selfless and you see him grow as a person in this relationship. The others show no improvement.....................

The reason its taking so long is because his grandma promised him she'd break it as long as he preserved FFYY's reputation by being civil with her. And then his grandma went back on that promise! It's not like he was stringing XY along without even trying to work on the problem. His greatest sin is that he thinks he's not worthy of XY as the Grand Princess without his status and that he's too soft-hearted to deal with his shitty family ruthlessly. But XY likes that about him, that he's so gentle unlike her. Xiang Liu is trying but he can't be there the way XY needs. So he learns to love? He's ALWAYS late when XY needs him. When she hurt herself to get his attention and help back in Qingshi town, he was late. When she was being tortured and fucking died, he arrived LAST, despite being the only one with a flying mount. He always ends up leaving her, whether it be on the island because he can't take the rejection, or in the middle of the day without letting XY know. Even though he's calmed down somewhat he's a terrible fit for someone with abandonment issues, not stable enough.

@@dustrose8101 It's just a movie....but Jing could have told his grandmother that his brother tortured him for years and almost killed him and that when FFYY saw him laying on the ground about to die she had no empathy for him as a human being. (she didn't know it was him) but she was all about money and status. The reason he even knew XY is because she saved his life. Grandma wouldn't have a grandson to boss around if XY didn't save him. XY did more for Jing than FFYY did for grandma and Jing was not responsible for grandmas debts. But Jing didn't explain anything to grandma and he was a grown man of status. He could have stood up to her but he wanted his title and lacked the guts to stand up to her or the other situations. Jing should have exposed his brother and FFYY. He should have told everyone what they did to him and also had them investigated to see what they were up to while he was gone. He had no backbone and XY could have waited 1000's of years for Jing. It seemed like he always had a reason to not marry her. All three men were a horrible fit for any woman, especially one with abandonment issues. Of the three, I still believe Xiang Liu is the best choice for a partner. He is the only one who gives freely of himself. He is deeply in love with her and wants her to feel that way about him. He doesn't ask her to spend time with other men to promote his desires or ask her to wait for him because he doesn't have the balls to make a manly decision. Also, he left her on the beach because she told him being with him would be worse than death. That broke his heart. He did that to make her angry and stay away from him because he couldn't handle it. When Jing was waiting on the beach for her, he had very deep regrets for doing that to her. Xiang Liu had no support systems in his life and no examples of how to treat a woman. The other men did.
