@@funmitoke9556 I think that he felt that something was happening between Xiao Yao and Xiang Liu, so he locked her with the 15 years promise. The guy was buying an option with her while he was still engaged. But by the end of this period, she was promised to him and he was constantly reminding her of these 15 years (15 bottles of dream wine delivered each time). And I also think that he also manipulates her loneliness insecurity. Sweetly promising to always be here for her, appearing weak so she feels she has the upper hand (calling her jiejie) which did attract her to him.
