I don't know if this is true, but one person on a TikTok video commented that he had stated at some point (interview or what I don't know) that his contract says he doesn't want any happy endings (it was worded differently but I'd have to find a video for exact wording). Anyway, that may explain why he also had a sad ending on 20th century girl and that same person said a sad ending also for an upcoming drama. How they know about upcoming dramas puzzles me, unless they know the title and it's based on a manga, webtoon or something like that? I saw Record of Youth but it's been a few years so I don't remember if he had a sad ending on that one too or any other dramas he did.

Oh, idk, beating up a poor employee half his own size with a golf iron seemed pretty "pure evil" to me. But breaking the bones of arrestees when you have been handed the authority of the law seems the same, even if they are criminals. Stepping on the already broken bone of a man lying down? How is that "cute", "brave", "proper" or right? There are laws describing the punishment agreed upon. Follow that. Prison, not torture. Kang is a bad cop, going on power trips. Disgusting.

@@cnj67 I suggest you watch real documentaries rather than these fantasy ones. Not being sarcastic or mean, but these type of supernatural or fantasy dramas are not for you mate. These aren't supposed to have that much logic, we are only supposed to enjoy watching them for their emotions.

@@Abantika.k_01 Fantasy as well as science fiction is supposed to have their own logic as much as any "realistic" genre. You build a "What if" scenario, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be coherent. Of course you can shovel a sack full of random occurrences into any story, but it is not more okay in fantasy than in a kitchen zink drama - less, even, because you are responsible for the world you build.
@cnj6711 ай бұрын
@@Abantika.k_01 Like, this fantasy was obviously glorifying the police force while justifying police brutality and ridiculing civil rights as so far as they mean any kind of restrictions to the police. I don't like the smell of that, but while throwing around grown men in a fight makes for a fun drama, having overpowered a man and *then* breaking his bones is just disgusting. Within the frame of this drama it was depicted as stemming from some kind of righteous anger, and it can leave an impression on the many people who forget why it is not legal to torture prisoners. Several dramas, fantasy or not, have been attacking civil rights lately, and I wonder if they are paid to do so?

If she had given him just a crumb after that, like, saying:,"You made a promise! I thought you said you wanted to be a true light? Where is that now?" And then she could have been attacked by the mafia and Si-oh could have done something desperate to save her and died. Giving Kang competition forever, Haha, against the memory of Si-oh.

And the Audacity for Jong-gan (grandmother) who suggested that Geum-ju and Bong-go to be back together, but she herself can’t choose her original husband. i felt band for grandpa, even if he left for how many years, he still came back. - plus, that vagrant who left his lover for fame after receiving money from nam-soon.. he’s so ungrateful. - Bread Song being Nozh… - Hwa-Ja being killed even if she changed for the better. - They never explained that photo of Si-Oh with bread song. + I don’t know why Pavel is like overhyped? I thought they were some powerful Mafia group but they just didn’t help Si-Oh at all. They just order him around. + Plus they don’t explain much how Si-Oh became superstrong when he induce the drug. + Why do they want to give Nobel Peace Prize on Doctor Choi? By creating the antidotes? Man, he also made the drug to kill many people. That’s basically creating bioweapon. He just knows the antidote because he’s also the one who made those drugs. + Why did that new Police Head still survived Si-Oh’s attack? I liked the first episodes until Namsoon openly admitted her betrayal against Sio who trusted her sincerely. I thought it's a bit out of character for a heroine - so unlike her mom who believed in the goodness of Hwaja despite her pretense to be her daughter and attempt to kill Namsoon. Sadly the last 2 episodes just fell flat for me. The scenes were cringey and the Sio's death was just anti-climactic. There could have been a better scenario to redeem Sio's character knowing that he's been through a lot in the past. Killing the antagonist by suicide was just lousy and lazy.

What's with this "betrayal". She didn't betray him. She worked undercover and her main purpose was to get evidence and take down the drug lord/murderer Sio. She never showed any romantic interest. If that's betrayal then every cop, detective or secret agent out there fictional (James Bond) or real, has betrayed the person they investigated. Betrayal would be if she met him at the airport, before knowing what he did, they got friendly but then she found out and switched sides. She was never on his side, so that's no betrayal. He felt that way doesn't make it real.
@Surftouka11 ай бұрын
@@anasianvibe6523 That's the most valid point made. IMO Namsoon didn't betray him or owe him anything. However, I personally wanted her mom to show him empathy just as she did to the fake daughter. I wanted her to do that in a motherly way, something he never had. Now if she had tried (like she did with Hwaja) and he still didn't change, then it's a totally different story, he'd be asking for trouble if he stayed on that evil path Pavel set before him. Had he changed, maybe he would've still got some time in prison or maybe he would've helped stop Pavel and be spared the prison for helping, becoming a true hero. It's not that I didn't want Namsoon to show him empathy, but I really felt her Mom should have. He was a criminal set on the wrong path because of his upbringing, Hwaja was same-maybe her crime was theft not drugs and murder, but still I think it would've made more sense, if you're going to show empathy for one, show it for all or none at all.
@anasianvibe652311 ай бұрын
@@Surftouka That’s right about the ‘betrayal’ thing, ‘cause that’s what Nam-Soon had to do. The people who just curse Nam-Soon are being kind of too much. But from Shi-O’s POV it’s betrayal, that too from the first person he trusted in his life. What I said above was the only thing I felt, like he should have got a chance. Blame the writers though, both for Hwaja and Ryu Shi-O🤦♀️👎

the grandma and her bf lovestory is cute no doubt. but it just doesn't fit well with the serious dr*ug case storyline. there can be comedy, but there is a difference between serious comedy and silly comdey. I'm honestly disappointed with the franchise. they had such a great plot, they could definitely do better. we all know the drama wasn't great, it's just the Villain hype that made it popular.

With the Strong Girl concept it was obvious we were going to get silly comedy mixed in. But I didn't like that she date-raped her boyfriend like that was just okay! And also, there was no reason to send her ex to hospital, she could just say it like it was, he had written himself out of her life by staying away without any contact for ten years.

Some people prefer the villain and heroine together. In my opinion, his back story has nothing to do with being a drug dealer. He killed so many people. He should have punished those people who hurt him. They are criminals and he is also a criminal. What is the difference between him and them? The heroine does not like him. He has a loved one. Why should She love a drug dealer?
