That statue is the Greek goddess of victory. She is called the "Nike of Samothrace". "Nike" means victory in Greek. Samothrace is a Greek island. She was found at a temple on Samothrace dedicated to the 12 Greek gods. In this statue, she is landing on the prow of a ship, symbolizing that she is granting victory in a naval battle to the people who are on the ship. She used to have a head and arms and everything, but they all fell off because it's been 2,000 years since the statue was made.
