Plot: Xiao Ping Zhang and Xiao Ping Jing are the talented sons of Xiao Ting Sheng, the Prince of Changlin and general of the Liang dynasty’s most powerful army. Ping Zhang is the eldest and heir of Changlin, while Ping Jing is carefree and receives teachings from the the master of Langya Hall in the jianghu.
The Changlin Manor exists, first and foremost, for the people of Da Liang. Old man Lin Chen is the young doc who looked after Lin Shu (master Su) in Nirvana 1; the Emperor is the son of Prince, then Emperor, Jing of Nirvana 1; Older Tingseng, who the emperor calls brother and to whom he gives the commander's tally, is little Tingseng, who in Nirvana 1, was rescued from slave prison, and later adopted, by Prince Jing, and at a time taught by master Su (Lin Shu). Tingseng is supposed to be the son of Jing's eldest (dead) brother Prince Qi. (Man, I hope I got all that right.) Stay safe everyone.

Yes, this is a very good drama. The first season is also a good drama series. They say season three will be made in 2024 and Wu Lei 吳磊 will be one of the main actors. In the first season, Wu Lei played Fei Liu 飛流 - the little boy who was Mei ChangSu's bodyguard.

When Lin Chen said that Tingsheng is like "that man in old days" when talking about battle. I knew that he remembered his friend Lin Shu. Tingsheng learned a lot from Mei Changsu (Lin Shu) afterall. No wonder he became the head of Chang Lin Army that was named after Lin Shu aka Mei Changsu by emperor Jingyan. But there are characters from Nirvana 1 that I still missed though especially Fei Liu. He should be alive since he's just a little older from Tingsheng and Master Lin Chen is still alive 😅

So far loving it . I like how FL is really smart and really not childish. Its maybe have nothing common with NF1 charters but Ping Jing is very similar to Lin Shu before becoming Mei Changsu. Mei Changsu was mastermind but he was older and suffered a lot . Lost his family and friends. And he knew the enemy very good . There is no need to compere the both season. It is indeed different story but i think it is interersting.

Yeah! This is the sequel of nirvana fire I. The changlin Army that mention here is the name of the Emperor's bestfriend Mei Chang Shu or Shu Lin. So the Emperor name the army as Chang Lin Army or Long woods Army.. Ang Ting Sheng is the kids that prince Jing adopted... And Mei Chang Shu teach him Martial arts together with fei liu....

I'm back again to watch this series for the 3rd time. Haven't seen it for over two years. I just finished binge watching (kinda) Nirvana in Fire (1st series = Linshu/Master Su, Nihuang, Prince/Emperor Jing, Com. Meng, Fei Liu, et al) for the 3rd time, and still enjoyed it as much as I did the first time. Gonna kinda binge watch (a few episodes a day) this one. Can anyone out there let me know what other wonderful Chinese Costumes Dramas that Huang Xiaoming starred in? I know that Liu (Turbo) Haoran starred in 'Overland: Eagle Flag ' was it? So, Xiao Ting Sheng is the youngest son of prince Qi, the prince died before Nirvana in Fire season 1, the oldest brother of prince Jingyan (season 1), the late emperor in season 2. It means although Xiao Ting Sheng is adopted by the late emperor, he is a real royal. Xiao Ting Sheng should be the emperor and Xiao PingJing should be the crown prince.

In a way Nirvana in Fire 2 is better than NIF-1. Although NIF-1 has a more intricate storytelling, NIF-2 has more heart to it. Family bond and loyalty prevalent in NIF-2, along with a beautiful cinematography, music score and character development makes it a must watch. Thoroughly enjoyed the development of the central characters. One of the gems of Chinese dramas along with Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms.

This story takes place 40+ years after the events of season one. Make sure you watch season one. Season 1 and 2 are different. The pace and story are different. The focus is different. If you are a viewer who has trouble adjusting with styles, you might not like season two. I loved all the characters. One of the FLs here has been complained about. I like how she is, she's being portrayed correctly but audience members differ, and that's okay. Now, if you watched season one, you need patience here. If you love to get into the psyche of every character, you will love this because they take the time to let us see each characters journey. The focus of the story shifts twice. All this is done in readiness for the finally. But some audience members complained. They are used to the main couple being the focus. I understood this as them being used to simple stories. If you are a grown up and enjoy complex story telling, you will love this. The slow start made me think it was boring and should be tier two. But I had lost come from Love Like The Galaxy which has a very fast pace. When you switch paces, the slower show seems boring. Your brain needs time to adjust. I loved the love in this show. Be it family, romantic, the love came through in spades. I really enjoyed that aspect. Love, and loyalty. Now, my tier one shows for old people like me are: 1. Secret of Three Kingdoms 2. NIF 3. NIF 2 4. The Sleuth of Ming Dynasty 5. A Dream of Splendor 6. Jun Jiu Ling 7. Word of Honor (yes, it has emotional and layered depth for those who bother to look beyond the good looks and the flirting) For K-Dramas I recommend: 1. Arthdal Chronicles 2. My Country: The New Age This show NIF 2 has flashbacks to season one and they will feel like punches in the gut. Enjoy!

@@krislucy teheheh, I won't spoil it for you. Just keep watching. I enjoyed the Emperor's journey through the entire show and how everyone around him reacted. In my books, it's the best C-Drama ever in terms of the overall theme. Just keep watching and enjoy the changes in the characters 😁 PS: If you finish the show and want a complex one with a different theme and time, I can tell you one from the 1930s that made my heart sing. It's also tier one but I had not yet watched it by the time I made the comment.
