I couldn't believe that one of my favourite-EST C-Novel "The Times Spent in Pretense" by Butterfly's Shadow Beneath the Moon / Yue Xia Die Ying was adapted to a drama. God knows, I was eagerly looking forward to watch it. I wondered to what extent it was adapted and if they made any changes to the original novel plot. Hopefully, not too much as the novel plotline is already one of the most well-sketched CNs on Novel Updates. Ironically, I just watched Till Ep 2, and it was already more than enough to tell that this drama adaptation is too different from the original novel plotline. Had I not been a reader of the novel, this drama would have been a great delight to watch. However, having read the novel, I just can't bring myself to enjoy the drama. As one of my favourite-EST CN on NU, I can't help but compare the novel and the drama plotlines. Ep 1 had already diminished my enthusiasm to a great extent, but Ep 2 completely doused it out. The drama has been adapted too differently for my liking. A pity I can't finish the drama. I would rather re-read the novel itself, which is much much more to my delight. So, Happy Reading to me and Happy Watching to everyone!
