So here's my theory about Pang's potential. As said before, your potential is based on your personality. From what I have observed, Pang does not really seem too interested in a lot of things (even from the beginning of the story), he gets easily bored. But I have also noticed that Pang pays attention to really small details and he is a good observer. From previous episodes, (1) Pang noticed something on the floor that others did not see, (2) he observed how Wave got so tensed with a fight through his sweat, and in this ep, (3) he realized that there is a missing student number by just listening to Ohm. I don't know what you call this trait, but I think that is his potential.. or maybe it kinda relates to that. Maybe it is something bigger than what we could have thought.

I think the reason why Pang don't do good on grades is because of his innate trait, like you don't like studying and got bored easily without realizing that he apply everything in his daily life(like the ep1) he's also a keen observer but doesn't apply ut to himself
