I respect that girl greatly. Involving money is one aspect I'll always have trouble with, I understand that this is business and thats probably where their biggest income is however, in everything in life whenever you involve money, bad things can happen, people will feel entitled to say things to you because they are paying and then you either will feel obligated to acknowledge them or feel bad for ignoring them. If you do memberships you will need to prepare double material and can't just stop doing videos, basically people pay more to eat more of your life.

As someone who can't afford any membership yet, there's a time I feel left out whenever my favourite Vtuber does a membership only stream but not anymore now. Never had an ill feeling toward the Vtuber or whoever who buys the membership for the reason that it was one of the source income for my loved Vtuber and they deserved any of it. Iinchou also has a very valid and fair point on this, I think that she just doesn't want to lose complete authority on her chat "the bad ones" to her kind soul.

Seeing people in chat differently depending on if they have membership or not is something even I as a fan catch myself doing. You have no guarantee the person who isn't in the membership even likes the Liver - is how I justify this to myself, but really, you can never be sure. It's also like permitting people who pay money to do more than people who don't, which is bullshit. While membership is indeed a status of liking the Liver, not having it by no means is equivalent with not liking them. I know that, but I still can't help but unconsciously treat the two groups differently. Stupid brain.

Merch and voice packs are also better since it goes directly to the company and the Vtubers themselves whereas superchats and membership money goes through a lot of cuts like KZbin and taxes.

How about the overseas viewers, they can't buy merchandise since the shipping fee is high unless those overseas viewers are super rich. So better make a membership that would cost around $1

I have conflicting feelings to this matter. First is that I want them to be supported by others so Membership might be a good idea. But it might lead to a tight spot for the one who allowed it when decision making is needed on treatment. Either choice on treating the audience would be both with a reason behind but by being equal to all means setting a standard that new audience will learn and in turn might convince them to give more support which must be a goal. It's all about opportunity cost and... the trust to the audience and the trust to oneself of being impartial. This is a little bit similar to why there's some who don't put rules in their video description.
@yoursonisold87433 жыл бұрын
There is certainly a level of class divide with the membership system. It's not just blocking and stuff, but also member only streams, which as an incentive make sense, but which leave a chunk of the audience behind. Furthermore there are a lot Vtubers who act like members are a more personal circle and they can be more "themselves" in front of them, which honestly makes no sense. 5 bucks a months dont make you closer to the Vtuber and there is no reason to think they are nicer than others. It's not any less public and available in the end, so changing your attitude there wont help. It worries me more for them, because they let stuff slip sometimes out of a sense of seclusion that is just an illusion.
@sinasafari73493 жыл бұрын
they feel closer because there's less ppl
@gladewings11923 жыл бұрын
Member only streams are a bonus or extra if you think youre being left out then its your problem, youre just getting butthurt because they get an extra content thats all. Alot of Vtubers even do it like twice a month and some even rarely do it. Either way this Vtuber thing wont be a thing if people wont support or give them money no matter what you say $5 a month is nothing or whatever its still an effort to support them in return Vtubers give them some bonus content. And also alot of people join membership not because of member only streams but because they want to use custom emoji. And i myself wont be getting butthurt that i cant use any of their custom emoji, jealous yes but butthurt? no. Now if you think about it its more like Entitled fans vs Butthurt fans kinda thing but really its not the case alot of people who join membership just want to support or use custom emoji especially during singing stream. Mito's point is valid and fair but member or not if you dont follow the rules of no spam then you deserve to be block.
