Unfortunately negative western politics have also played a role in that the mindset of many Americans against China cites the narrative that China is the enemy and Korea is good. Even with the backlash of racism against foreigners and people of color taking place in Korea, the popularity of Kpop and Kdramas have taken over the airwaves for many. I find that most unfortunate as there are some incredibly good Chinese dramas, and the introduction of Mpop and cpop to the American audience is gaining traction as well. Performers like Xiao Zhan, Zhang (Lay) Yixing, Wang Yibo, Jackson Wang, and others have broken into the international market and are exceptionally talented artists representing China.
