I feel like he's saying this because he knows what it feels like to be ignored. All of them know that feeling, but Namjoon and Yoongi especially. They were ignored, mistreated, scammed and rejected by the underground hip-hop community- a community they were passionate about. And it's not like the K-pop community had a warm welcome in store, either. Bang Si hyuk, also being an artist, was critisised for letting BTS debut. So they all know the burden and pain of being ignored, well. This speech was not only directed towards idols and idol groups, but also musicians/artists in general. I think it was very outspoken of him to address this issue in today's music/art industry. Edit: A leader should always use their platform to spread awareness and word about injustice in society.

If there's just respectable fans who consider his humility and wisdom aswell as those with similar mindset with him. what I also love about BTS is that they always wish the best for all the artists. namjoon even talked about other artists still working hard in shadow, unseen,ignored and nj said that he hopes their hardworks will pay off. They are so humble. Also they wish that rookies won't experience what bts went through in the past years. Its bc bts and armys have already suffered a lot of hardships and difficulties and we know how it feels. I really do hope cheating,saboting, maipulating,etc. won't continue. I hope 2020 will be a better year!

In a way I feel like no one ever paid attention to them, and even now when they are in the spotlight no one actually listens to what they are saying. Seemingly taking for granted the fact that they are creating history for KPOP in the western side of the world. Opening up the gateway to the most profitable entertainment/music industry in the entire world. In interviews and such they always say ''BTS is my idol'' but I barely ever see idols, pay attention to their speech, clap etc all they do is bow. I really respect Monsta X Wonho when he actually said that BTS's speech inspired him, and thought it was cool. These days not many idols are okay with complimenting the top unless they have to or unless it gives them some sort of attention in return. I mean come on, it's very obvious that they spend lots of time on their speeches and try to inspire their juniors, and are very humble. This year they said a million times that the spotlight and place they are in is something they are temporarily borrowing, something no other group (that i know of, please correct me) has ever done before. Everyone else seemed to be so obsessed and pressured by their companies to stay at the top, that they ended up falling back down. I hope new idols pay attention to BTS because they actually have good advice, aren't afraid to be honest and tell it like it is even if they get backlash. They are real idols, someone you should look up to and learn from, they are very rare.

And in Korea they are the underdogs. The top, but will “eventually be dethroned”. I remember that interview with wonho I'm not a fan of their group but I appreciate how he actually took Rm's speech into heart. I wish the new idol generation will actually learn to value music, and that they're actually in for the music not just because the company wants them to earn $$$. Remember BTS always emphasizes that music is their passion. You can feel the sincerity and love for their craft hence Army's are growing and will always there to support them. It's not all about visuals, or who can dance well, these groups can do that. BTS however can truly inspire and connect with people in so many levels.

yolo yolo Adding names to it will only cause chaos. As an army you have to learn to be mature and humble about BTS and their success. When you start comparing them to other groups you are only hurting bts and army’s. Not to mention that all those groups that you named are very talented, and one of them reigned at the top for years while BTS was still hidden in the shadows. Just skip adding their names and write something like “BTS’s passion and music is what makes them different from the rest. They have created their own path to success and in turn created a new genre.” I know you didn’t mean any harm, but everyone is sensitive about protecting their groups, and this may come of as an insult to them rather than a praise of bts.

i might be a little late but since i saw several comments regarding other idols' 'plain' reaction, i want to give an answer about this. bts is a very very very huge group and they had the chance to say what they want to say and that's an advantage. rm's speech is completely amazing here. the reason why most idols didn't give any reaction is because this is quite a sensitive issue to talk about publicly esspecially when ure not a huge artist. MANY had tried to say it out loud but since they're small, didn't have the recognization, they ended up getting sued and stuff. this is why other idols didn't give him a damn reaction because they didn't want to cause a chaos and issue. tbh i bet everyone wanted to stand up and give them standing ovation but they couldn't. as you can see, gidle was paying so much attention. they clapped for him quietly. this is because gidle themselves are facing some difficulties. if you pay attention to every groups, you can see that they're lowkey looking at each other. they talked with each other abt his speech. pls dont say something bad about their reaction. its not like they're ignorant or selfish or rude. but the topic joon was talking about is sensitive and im proud of him for being able to point this out. + jin talked about sajaegi on mama 2019 as well.

Good analyze. I would like to say too as always people judging idols via cam , that's why they won't react anymore even for the simpliest thing. I remember back at the days before 2016 , there weren't much big cam zooming on their faces & people didn't judge them so hard so they acted more freely & now that those fancam reaction is well know for business , idols won't budge to please people feelings because of misjudgment except for some who know that it won't affect them much like BTS , twice(some members)

Bts started talking about sensitive topics way before they got famous, because they were representatives of a small company they had nothing to lose because literally nobody payed attention to what they were saying and now that they have become huge, they are using their influence to spread a positive message and talking about the same sensitive topics but the difference here is that everybody is listening to them now and no one can criticize them or screw them over because they are BTS. So yeah I agree with you that not all the groups have the freedom to talk about it openly but I feel they can and they should take chances that's how people would change and the community would, sm, jyp they are all influential companies in Korea then why can't their artists be free to talk out their minds, like sm I still understand is a bit conservative but atleast jyp should. @@iwvslk this is a kind of old comment lmao, but i get the vibes that while they respect bts and they don't hate or dislike them, they work hard and they wish that they could for once get these awards but for the past few years, bts have been sweeping them all. and well deserved in my opinion. but yeah, i feel like they can't help but feel that bit of bitterness. personally tho, i feel like with knowing how hard they work themselves, it's the same for bts, and maybe even more bc of all the extra overseas activities and individual projects they work on, so i would think they would feel their pain, but idk. also, bc of bts, so many doors have opened for them overseas, and especially since being in hybe, but again, idk. these are all just assumptions

Tbh I know right, but out of the artists you mentioned I think exo would be the most respectful, not only bcs they admire BTS like wanna one, mamamoo and redvelvet but they've been toe to toe with BTS since 2016. There's literally been nothing between them but respect and I'd say it's always your biggest rival who would understand you more than the ones who don't even try to rival. Even when BTS wins daesangs over them exo were always the first to stand to congratulate them bcs they know it's not easy in the music industry. I don't mind the reactions that much since they weren't prepared for it, but besides Nu'est they're seniors to all of them and I only hoped they took some inspiration from it
