Sugizo might not be the most skilled one but definitely has the best hand gestures among all the other j-rock guitarists, his bends/vibrato/tremolo.. simply beautiful
Thank you so much for adding English subtitles ! :) I love Sugizos guitar playing . He makes his guitar sound like a violin!

This time we dive into the world of SUGIZO, the guitarist of legendary bands like LUNA SEA and X JAPAN! Surprisingly, you can recreate his iconic sound with just a multi-effects pedal. We invited HARUTO to explain the process, and there's even a little jam in the middle! Enjoy! If you enjoyed this video, please hit the like button and subscribe to the channel! Feel free to leave your feedback or requests in the comments section! Thank you for tuning in!
i cant speak japanese , i did watch other one ,and i just noticed he hands no tattoos, then i scroll down and read some of those comments ,🤣🤣not real SUGIZO , im so focused on his guitar playing ,you guys totally got me , he just 95% looks like him.

HARUTO looks so much like SIGIZO that many people watch his videos thinking it is him! He explains it properly at the beginning of the video, but if you skip that part, you may not notice it. I almost called him SUGIZO by mistake when I was filming.
hope you bring Daita of Siam Shade as well in future :D

Hi Yujin san, a big thanks to you and Haruto San for this video. This is a very informative video. But I'm quite curious about an issue and would like to seek your advice. This is a Sugizo san signature guitar with a P90 pickup, so when use with gain effect, how did you guys eliminate the humming noise?

Glad you enjoyed watching this video! As for the hum noise removal, HARUTO-san used the noise suppressor built into the GT-100. I keep a volume pedal connected to the board at all times, and when I'm not playing, I make it completely silent with it. It may seem a bit cumbersome, but once you get used to it, it's no problem. Sometimes the sound quality is better than using a noise suppressor, so that's what I do. However, modern noise suppressors have very high sound quality, so you can use either one!

@@YujinImanishi Good evening to you, Yujin san. Thank you and HARUTO san for taking the time to give me this advice. I will definitely try out this method. And I would like to say a big thank you on behalf of all the non Japanese speaking viewers of your videos. It's very kind and thoughtful of you to include English translation in your videos. This is especially helpful for viewers who don't understand Japanese and are into the Japan guitar music scene. Please keep up the good work and all the best to you!🖖🤟🙏

Sugizo played with mostly humbuckers during the early days of LUNA SEA. He partially switched to single coils after 1993/94, post Eden and early Mother era. in 1995, he went full-fledged single coils, mostly using Lace Sensor single coils before he switch to Seymour Duncans. He counter the humming, he ran a noise gate pedal/box that is mounted on his effects rack and you don't see it anywhere on his stage pedal boards. The volume pedals on Sugizo's setup are mostly used for volume swells and as a volume switch. Currently, he has two different setups - rack mount setup + Fender Tonemaster + Bogner + Peavey 5150 III head + Peavey 5150 III cabinet and his Fractal multi-efx unit that he used for his solo shows that goes directly into the house speakers. I believe Fractal would have a built in noise suppressor, and as for his rack mount, he probably still keep a noise suppressor/noise gate pedal some where within the signal chain.

@@peterpang5759Hi Peter, thank you for sharing this information. I found a way to get better result using my Boss GT multi effect unit. I managed to turn the Noise Suppressor into active mode. Hahaha

I think he is using an ISP noise gate rack unit too.
I used to use the GT-100 all the time until very recently (I switched to a Helix LT). Guess it’s time I take that one out of the storage and try some of the settings here. Thank you so much. I’ve learned quite a few things here. I also have a multi-stomp (currently lent out to a friend). It’s a nice little Swiss Army knife to have, though it affect the sound quite a bit when it’s on bypass. I’ll definitely try the octave trick! Many thanks to you and to Haruto-San!

Glad I could be of service to you! I hope you will try it on your GT-100!
