Guys, let’s not feel sad or anything. No matter what hardships Lara faces, she always overcomes them and always finds her way ❤️ Also, note that this interview is not complete. Her full statement was in a written interview. She precisely mentions 3 songs “Je suis malade”, “Je t’aime” and “you’re not from here” as songs that were really an adequacy between her genuine feelings and her vocal abilities. So to put it simply, she only wants to do vocal acrobatics it it comes from her heart 300%, if it meets her feelings. Not because she feels pressure to sing them because of other people’s expectations (cough cough: fans who only focus on her high notes as a way to assess if she can still sing or not.) The ability for critical self-reflection and the repeated questioning of past decisions are an important basis for authenticity. As before, Lara Fabian is very strict with herself. I don't think she had a chance to act differently as a young woman. Especially at the beginning of a career, the external pressure and the need to adapt to existing structures are enormous. She has now reached a stage in her creativity, or rather a freedom, in which she no longer has to bow to external pressure. I will continue to support her, now more than ever.

Let's be honest: her timbre is God given, it's a bliss and a curse at the same time. The repertoire she possesses requires huge mental and physical resources and she sounded as if there was a vocal category in Olympic sports. Yes, Lara, we are grateful that you gave us this much, and yes, your voice changed, we are not deaf. We don't need you to push your boundaries anymore. We need new songs for the new voice. By the way, Lara fans reading this - I write and sing good ballads, check them on my channel, they will give you something that you like.

For me it's all the little tins that make the big difference for me, in terms of Lara and pretty much all the other artists / musicians / singers. She is humble and grateful when she finishes her song, she immediately gives her musicians a thank you, her pianist, the one she has sung duet with always gets a hug and she seems genuinely happy that the audience claps and acknowledges her preformance. And the way her concerts are produced, when we see them, she is very careful to show all the musicians who are on stage, including her backing singers. She's not afraid to look ugly if the song demands it. She is completely free and herself. Love Lara ❤ Love from Denmark ❤

Beautifully said. I never hear her as doing acrobatics, which to me means doing things just because you can. I've always appreciated her brilliance for always choosing the right notes for the moment. That's not acrobatics, it's musicality at it's height. It's the greatest skill a singer, or musician on any instrument, can achieve. Very few do it as well as her.

And also Lara needs to consider that after giving birth,as a lady,her voice would surely drop not like before and even if she tries harder,it will improve but not as before giving birth,so I see no reason why she should be complaining,after all she is a powerful vocalist,a power house vocalist,I love you Lara n trust me when I say I dont care bout your voice texture anymore,just sing to our soul

Moi je pense qu elle a surtout plus la capacite vocale (avec l age de ses cordes vocales) d etre aussi puissante alors je vais me faire demolir (mais respecter mes preferences comme je respecte les votres) mais je preferai lara des annees 98-2002 avec cette puissznce inegalable a la voix de ses dernieres annees mais si son « choix » est celui ci il faut toijours faire ce qui nous rend heureux

Elle a vieilli et ses cordes vocales aussi, c’est normal. Si tu préfères ces années la tant mieux pour toi, c’est ta préférence mais ça n’empêche qu’elle n’était pas heureuse du tout 🙂 Après tout, il est admirable de savoir apprécier un/une artiste dans son évolution à travers les années. Tout le monde n’en est pas capable je suppose

On n'imagine pas le voyage que la voix peut nous faire faire tant qu'on ne l'a pas vécu. Pour vivre moi même cr voyage au quotidien, je sais à quel point il peut être tortueux, même dans les beaux moments. De l'extérieur les choses paraissent simples. Tout a l'air question de volonté et de capacité, ça l'est même pour certains professeurs de chant. La vérité est bien plus complexe, c'est un mélange d'un tas de facteurs que nous ne maîtrisons pas nous-mêmes. J'admire bcp Lara piur sa franchise et sa façon de mettre des mots sur des choses si difficiles à raconter et si peu exprimées.

I feel bad now because my fav albums are the Adagio and Nue albums which are both during the Sony era. She probably was the most unhappy during those times and was used like a tool. Is she kinda like Mariah who also says belting is boring and she hates looking at her past self? I feel like that's what Lara is saying rn.

She doesn’t think belting is boring. She just doesn’t like being forced to belt IF that’s not the expression of her heart- which was the case for many years when they used her voice like a circus freak. She just wants to be able to sing what’s on her heart- whether it be a belt or a whisper. And yes, Lara’s had a huge issue with her self image. She legit used to hate herself and would never watch back her performances but now that she’s much happier and also more experienced, she’s more peaceful about it all. Oh and also, the Nue album is also one of her favorites so don’t worry 🙂
