Interesting, I guess average americans are bigger so it's considered an average size maybe ? In France, she would still be considered "plus size", because technically overweight. Someone can be overweight and still look good, being '"plus size" doesn't have a negative connotation. Everyone would agree that she looks fabulous

This is fascinating to me. The idea of just not having access to people like this, and seeing them as completely strange and foreign is kind of cute and innocent, though I can see how not having a ton of diversity could cause problems. Mostly I love how the teenagers are so kind and welcoming to these people who are fairly different from them. It's interesting because I am American and was surrounded by people like this from a young age. Various different colors, religions, levels of weight, tattoos, what have you... But I didn't know Any Asian people at all. So it's ironic to me seeing the reverse.

This is a very good example of how appearance can be deceiving. Many people would assume being plus sized can lead to insecurity, and though that may be the case for some, which is sad but true, as shown here and many other people, there are plus sized, at least in this case, women, who are very comfortable in their skin. The tattooed lady could very easily come off as intimidating and scary but she seemed to be the complete opposite. Such a sweet, quiet and shy soul from what I saw. The cosplayer too. Her outfit and her speaking voice could not have been more different that I was expecting, idk what I was expecting but her voice caught me off guard . A very calm, not necessarily soft spoken per say but she has one of those calming ASMR voices you could listen too for a while. For the body builder, my heart hurt that she gets called mean things because she's doing what she likes. Like it's not like she's doing anything illegal but unfortunately stigmas still exist beauty standards and so on too. I hope things get better It's one thing to judge on first appearance and another to get to interact and know someone

Visiting will most likely be ok. I think they have an open attitude to tourists. What I've understood is more difficult is when you choose to live there and work there. When you try to integrate into Korean society, apparently you will deal with a lot of discrimination and bullying.

In korea, as long as you’re hardworking and have basic level of sociability, you’re accepted. But you will probably hear comments to lose weight or to get fit., and to hear these comments at a bigger size is not abnormal., even in America, people of ethnic roots such Latino, Haitian, Fijian, African roots are blunt like that about weight. I go to a very multicultural church and a lot of our church members even lecture a Korean guy who is heavier and they tell him to lose weight

Tattooing is frowned upon immensely in Japan as low class, and she is very strong to do as she chooses and stand up to live her own life! I have 4 tattoos and each one special and personal to me. Lovely video! I am a plus size woman very similar to this lady, I'm proud to have an hourglass shape with hips and a smaller waist! All women are beautiful!

this reminded me of when I was like 16 yo and meet a female firefighter for the first time. She and her colleague were sent to my school during a talk about careers and professions. she taught us many different procedures and also how to pick up someone who was unconscious. Acho isso tão legal, mas é realmente um choque cultural, aqui no Brasil é normal ter pessoas musculosas e todas tatuadas, não é muito normal encontrar alguém de cosplay na rua do nada mas tem diversos eventos de cosplay também, e sobre o corpo, não temos um padrão, é um misto de todos os gostos e tipos de misturas de étnias, a Coreia é bem padronizada pelo que vejo, achei bem curioso e diferente daqui! 😊

Love how this video shows that curvy thick women are also considered beautiful and matter instead of just stick women like in K-beauty standards. This is very helpful for those insecure with their thick thighs/curvy bodies and makes them feel less insecure about it.

I love that none of them follow the stereotypes set by the society of their country, for example the first girl they say that she eats if she feels like it regardless of being a large size obviously you should not romanticize obesity but she has a beautiful body and does not follow the pressure to be skinny like most she does what makes her happy without fear of being judged. That is why I am grateful to live in a country where no one is judged by your body or how you dress, no one cares about your life because everyone takes care of their own lives.
