It would seem impossible to lose the heart and head of BBT, and some of the spine too, and to come back so perfectly formed as BBT. You cannot forget Mr. Longdon, and nor should you, but this version of BBT does him proud.

Nothing can replace Mister Longdon in the lives of all the fans of Big Big Train, but Mister Bravin doesn't need to. Mister Bravin is his own person, and Big Big Train does not suffer with his singing. What a wonderful performance. I can't wait to hear more from our current line up!

I agree that no one can replace David Longdon’s masterful voice. It had so much power and character. Alberto Bravin is a close second but seems to lack the power and persona that was David. Perhaps Alberto’s Mike was under mixed during this recording or, simply, wasn’t singing directly into the mike. Only future recordings will tell. Best of luck to him as he does show a lot of potential.

I’m sure Alberto must have been as nervous as hell during these first gigs, but damn he nailed that, as did all the band. Musicianship and technical ability is off the scale, but more importantly, the performance has emotion and soul.

Been lucky enough to see BBT a few times, but hesitated over this gig because it was too soon after David's passing for me. However I have my ticket for later in 2023 and this upload really puts my mind at rest about the experience awaiting me.

Beautiful how Claire plays the original flute line by David on her Violin and how the sound of the violin is very similar to the flute right at the end of her opening piece before the synth comes in xx

Knowing what Alberto was doing with PFM, I thought he'd be quite good in BBT. I'm really glad that he got to come out from the back of that group to better showcase his talent. Rewatching this while the results of the US election roll in, and just wishing I could curl up inside this song.
